Terjärv
Terjärv ( fi, Teerijärvi) was an independent municipality of Finland until 1969 but is now together with Nedervetil, a part of the municipality of Kronoby. Terjärv is located in the province of Western Finland and is part of the Ostrobothnia (region), Ostrobothnia region. The ex-municipality has a population of about 2,400. The former municipality is bilingual, with a large majority Swedish language, Swedish-speaking and the minority Finnish language, Finnish. Being by air from port city Jakobstad at the nearest coastline, the village is among the further inland settlements of Swedish-speaking Finns, Swedish-speaking Finland. The minor village of Vistbacka within the district is even further inland at from Jakobstad, which makes it the furthest inland settlement where Swedish is the dominant language. Ostrobothnia (region)
Ostrobothnia ( sv, Österbotten; fi, Pohjanmaa) is a region in western Finland. It borders the regions of Central Ostrobothnia, South Ostrobothnia, and Satakunta. It is one of four regions considered modern-day Ostrobothnia, hence also referred to as Coastal Ostrobothnia to avoid confusion. Ostrobothnia is one of two Finnish regions with a Swedish-speaking majority (the other being the constitutionally monolingual province of Åland); Swedish-speakers make up 51.2% of the total population. The region contains thirteen bilingual municipalities and one that is exclusively Finnish-speaking. Finnish ( endonym: or ) is a Uralic language of the Finnic branch, spoken by the majority of the population in Finland and by ethnic Finns outside of Finland. Kokkola-Pietarsaari Airport
Kokkola-Pietarsaari Airport ( sv, Karleby-Jakobstad flygplats, fi, Kokkola-Pietarsaaren lentoasema; ) is located in Kronoby, Finland, about south of Kokkola city centre and north-east of Jakobstad city centre. Overview The airport opened to traffic in 1960, when Aero began operating a route between Helsinki and Kokkola-Pietarsaari, then Kruunupyy Airport. In 1964 the first airport and air traffic control building are completed. In 1991 the airport's runway is extended to 2,500 metres, while in 1997 the terminal's expansion is completed. Until March 1, 2010, the name of the airport was ''Kruunupyy Airport'' or ''Kronoby Airport''. In 2010, about 80,000 passengers traveled via the airport.
