Tereza Mirzoyan
Tereza Gaikovna Mirzoyan ( hy, Թերեզա Միրզոյան; August 11, 1922, Kirovokan, Armenian SSR, Soviet Union — 7 August 2016, Yerevan, Armenia) was an Armenian sculptor. A member of the Artists' Union of the USSR, she was an Honored Artist of the Armenian SSR (1967) and Honored Art Worker of the Armenian SSR (1986), as well as a teacher and professor. Life and Work Mirzoyan was born on 11 August 1922 in Kirovokan in Soviet Armenia (today the Lori Province of Armenia). In 1946, she graduated Tbilisi Academy of Fine Arts. Since 1949, Mirzoyan was a Member of the Union of Artists of the Armenian SSR. Since 1950, she was an active participant in exhibitions of the Union of Artists of Armenia. She has repeatedly exhibited her works abroad. Mirzoyan is an author of numerous sculptures and monumental works both in Armenia and abroad. Vanadzor
Vanadzor ( hy, Վանաձոր) is an urban municipal community and the third-largest city in Armenia, serving as the capital of Lori Province in the northern part of the country. It is located about north of the capital Yerevan. As of the 2011 census, the city had a population of 86,199, down from 148,876 reported at the 1979 official census. Currently, the town has a population of approximately 76,200. Vanadzor is the seat of the Diocese of Gougark of the Armenian Apostolic Church. Etymology Vanadzor was previously known as ''Gharakilisa'' (), meaning "black church" in Turkic. In the official records of the Russian Empire, the city was labelled as ''Karakilis Bolshoye'' (). State Academy Of Fine Arts Of Armenia
State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia (SAFAA, hy, Հայաստանի գեղարվեստի պետական ակադեմիա), is a state-owned public university located in Yerevan, Armenia. Founded in 1946, operating jointly with the Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinematography, the Fine Arts Academy had become independent since 1994. The academy is located on 36 Isahakyan street of the central Kentron District of Yerevan. The rector of the academy is Professor Aram Issabekyan. Mkhitar Heratsi ( hy, Մխիթար Հերացի) was a 12th-century Armenian physician. He was born in Khoy (present-day northwestern Iran). Lori Province
Lori ( hy, Լոռի, ), is a province ('' marz'') of Armenia. It is located in the north of the country, bordering Georgia. Vanadzor is the capital and largest city of the province. Other important towns include Stepanavan, Alaverdi, and Spitak. It is home to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites of Haghpat and Sanahin monasteries and the well-preserved Akhtala monastery, where Armenians, Georgians, and Greeks make an annual pilgrimage on September 20–21.
