María Teresa de Larraín y Guzmán Peralta (March 2, 1785 - 1828) was First Lady of Chile and the wife of President Agustín Eyzaguirre. She was of Basque descent. She was born in Santiago, the daughter of Agustín de Larraín y Lecaros and of Ana Josefa de Guzmán Peralta y Lecaros. With her husband, they had ten children together. Agustín Eyzaguirre
Agustín Manuel de Eyzaguirre y Arechavala (; May 3, 1768 – July 19, 1837) was a Chilean political figure. He served as Provisional President of Chile between 1826 and 1827. Early life He was born in Santiago, Chile, the son of the Basque Domingo Eyzaguirre Escutasolo and of María Rosa de Aretxabala y Alday. He studied law and theology at the ''Real Universidad de San Felipe'', graduating in 1789. Originally he wanted to become a priest, but later changed his mind, and decided to take over the family hacienda in Calera de Tango. He married María Teresa de Larraín y Guzmán Peralta on September 13, 1808. During all the rest of his life he dedicated himself to the commerce and the management of his lands. Carmen Gana López
María del Carmen Gana López (180015 April 1880) was a Chilean aristocrat and a First Lady of Chile. Biography Gana López was the daughter of Agustín Domingo Gana y Darrigrande and María Dolores López y Guerrero Villaseñor. She married Manuel Blanco Encalada on 29 November 1818, and together they had 6 children. She was a confidant and adviser for her husband throughout his political career. Blanco acted as Interim President of Chile from 9 July 1826 until 9 September 1826, during which Gana served as First Lady. In spite of her short tenure, Gana used her position as an opportunity to act on her passion for social service. She arranged for her husband to allow the Congregation of the Good Shepherd, a Catholic religious order, to establish the first orphanage in San Felipe.
