Antonio Tempesta
Antonio Tempesta, also called il Tempestino (1555 – 5 August 1630), was an Italian painter and engraver, whose art acted as a point of connection between Baroque Rome and the culture of Antwerp. Much of his work depicts major battles and historical figures. Life He was born and trained in Florence and painted in a variety of styles, influenced to some degree by "Counter-''Maniera''" or Counter-Mannerism. He enrolled in the Florentine Accademia delle Arti del Disegno in 1576. He was a pupil of Santi di Tito, then of the Flemish painter Joannes Stradanus. He was part of the large team of artists working under Giorgio Vasari on the interior decoration of the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence. His favourite subjects were battles, cavalcades, and processions. Cavalier Pietro Tempesta
Cavalier Pietro Tempesta, or Pieter Mulier II (1637 – 29 June 1701) was a Dutch Golden Age painter active in Italy. Biography Muller was born in Haarlem. He learned to paint from his father, Pieter Mulier I and travelled to Italy, working in Rome (1656–1670), Genoa (1670–1684) and northern Italy until he died in Milan. John Tempesta (born September 26, 1964) is an American drummer known for his work in hard rock and heavy metal. He has been a member of the Cult since 2006. Biography Previously, Tempesta played with several bands including Exodus, Testament and White Zombie. He worked with former White Zombie singer Rob Zombie as a solo artist and served as drum technician for Charlie Benante, drummer for the heavy metal band Anthrax earlier in his career. He is referenced in Anthrax's rendition of "Friggin' in the Riggin'" (from their 1989 EP ''Penikufesin''), with lyrics about the band's crew members. Additionally he also played the role of the "Not Man" during Anthrax's early live shows footage of which can be seen in the "Antisocial" music video. In 1997 he had a brief tenure as the drummer for the band Prong before they disbanded later the same year. In 2000, he played drums on the song "Meat", from Tony Iommi's self-titled solo album. Mike Tempesta is a rock guitarist and an artist relations manager. He also goes by the moniker M.33. He was credited for rhythm guitar tech on the 1990 Anthrax album ''Persistence of Time'' and his guitar solo in their Album/Song "Stomp 442,"/" American Pompeii". Before his career as a musician, he was a guitar technician for Anthrax's Scott Ian. He was a member of Human Waste Project, and played rhythm guitar in the band Powerman 5000 until his departure in 2004. Bonnie Lynn Tempesta (née Bonnie Lynn Marcheschi; January 5, 1953 – September 25, 2014) was an American baker and businesswoman who helped pioneer the gourmet food movement in the United States. Called "the Queen of Biscotti." Tempesta "effectively started the national biscotti craze." Biography With her mother Aurora Marcheschi, Tempesta founded La Tempesta Bakery Confections in 1983. The bakery grew to become the largest biscotti maker in America, producing 300,000 biscotti cookies daily and generated annual revenues approaching $9 million by 1995. In 1982, Tempesta used her Florence, Florentine aunt Isa Romoli's recipe to produce biscotti — the flat, crunchy, twice-baked cookies traditionally used by Italians to dunk in wine or espresso. Baking them from home, she began selling them to her employer at Confetti, a downtown San Francisco chocolate shop. Orani João Tempesta
Orani João Tempesta (; born on 23 June 1950) is a Brazilian prelate of the Catholic Church who has been archbishop of Rio de Janeiro since 2009. He was previously bishop of São José do Rio Preto from 1997 to 2004 and archbishop of Belém do Pará from 2004 to 2009. Early years Tempesta was born in São José do Rio Pardo in the State of São Paulo. He is the youngest son of the Italian immigrant Achille Tempesta and his Brazilian wife Maria de Oliveira. After completing his elementary and lower secondary-school studies in São José do Rio Pardo, Tempesta entered the Cistercian Monastery of São Bernardo in the same city in 1967. He studied philosophy at the Monastery of São Bento (St. Benedict) in São Paulo, and theology at the Salesian Theological Institute of Pope Pius IX in São Paulo. Peter Tempesta
Peter (1291 – 29 August 1315), called Tempesta (meaning "storm"), was the Count of Eboli from 1306. He was the eighth son of Charles II of Naples and Maria of Hungary (see Elizabeth of Sicily). His sobriquet came from his stormy temperament. In 1309, he received Nocera and Isernia and exchanged Montescaglioso for Sorrento and Castellammare di Stabia. He began serving his brother, King Robert, against the Ghibellines of Uguccione della Faggiuola in Tuscany. He led 300 knights and was given the title of "Vicar of Tuscany, Lombardy, Romagna, the city of Bertinoro, and the city of Ferrara and Captain-General of the Guelph party of Tuscany".
