Temistocle Popa
Themistocles Popa (; 27 June 1921 – 26 November 2013) was a Romanian composer, musician, and film actor. Life Temistocle Popa studied flute, harp, and saxophone at the National University of Music Bucharest. He then worked with musicians such as and Ion Dacian, and was close friends with the popular Romanian singer Maria Tănase. Beginning in the early 1960s, he wrote music for many Romanian films. He was married to actress Cornelia Teodosiu, and resided with her in Bucharest. After the Romanian Revolution of 1989 Popa lost almost his entire fortune due to nationalization of assets. In 2004 he received the Romanian National Order Legal Service, attaining the rank of Knight. Popa died in 2013 and was buried at Ghencea Military Cemetery in Bucharest. Galați
Galați (, , ; also known by other alternative names) is the capital city of Galați County in the historical region of Western Moldavia, in eastern Romania. Galați is a port town on the Danube River. It has been the only port for the most part of Moldavia's existence. In 2011, the Romanian census recorded 249,432 residents, making it the 8th most populous city in Romania. Galați is an economic centre based around the port of Galați, the naval shipyard, and the largest steel factory in Romania, Galați steel works. Etymology and names The name ''Galați'' is derived from the Cuman word . This word is ultimately borrowed from the Persian word , "fortress". Other etymologies have been suggested, such as the Serbian . The Yugoslav National Movement ( sh, Jugoslavenski narodni pokret / Југословенски народни покрет), also known as the United Militant Labour Organization (''Združena borbena organizacija rada'' / ''Здружена борбена организација рада'', or Zbor / ''Збор''), was a Yugoslav fascist movement and organization led by politician Dimitrije Ljotić. Founded in 1935, it received considerable German financial and political assistance during the interwar period and participated in the 1935 and 1938 Yugoslav parliamentary elections, in which it never received more than 1 percent of the popular vote. Following the Axis invasion and occupation of Yugoslavia in April 1941, the Germans selected several Zbor members to join the Serbian puppet government of Milan Nedić.
