Temerloh
Temerloh is a municipality in central Pahang, Malaysia. Temerloh has been proven to be the "centre of Peninsular Malaysia" (Malay: ) 3TS, which is situated at Kampung Paya Siput, Lanchang. Located about from Kuala Lumpur along the Kuantan–Kuala Lumpur trunk road, Temerloh is the second largest town in Pahang after Kuantan, the state capital. It is situated at the junction of the Pahang River and the Semantan River. Today, ''Temerloh'' usually refers to the territory under the administration of Temerloh Municipal Council which includes Mentakab, Lanchang, Kuala Krau and Kerdau. An old town with some colonial buildings and shop houses, the town has prospered in recent years as a transport hub and new industrial centre. There have been many new commercial and industrial hubs built in Temerloh in recent years. Temerloh District
Temerloh District is a district in Pahang, Malaysia. The district consists of two areas, the Municipal Council Area (64.08%) and the outer Municipal Council Area (35.92%). Temerloh district is bordered by Maran District on the east, Bentong District on the west, Jerantut District on the north, and Bera District on the south. Malaysia Federal Route 2
The Federal Route 2 is a major east–west oriented federal highway in Malaysia. The road connects Port Klang in Selangor to Kuantan Port in Pahang. The Federal Route 2 became the backbone of the road system linking the east and west coasts of Peninsula Malaysia before being surpassed by the East Coast Expressway E8. Mentakab
Mentakab (alternately ''Mentekab'', Jawi: منتاكب, Pahang Malay: ''Mentekak'') is a town, a mukim (commune) and a state assembly constituency in Temerloh District in central Pahang, Malaysia. It is northwest from downtown Temerloh and northeast from Kuala Lumpur. History It was originally known as Pasir Rawa. In the late 19th century, Mentakab was a candidate for Pahang's new capital city, replacing Pekan. However, due to its mountainous terrain, Kuala Lipis was instead chosen as the capital of the state in 1898, later replaced by Kuantan in 1955. Transport Rail Mentakab has a railway station operated by Keretapi Tanah Melayu. The railway station is on the East Coast Line of the KTM Intercity network, running from Gemas in Negeri Sembilan to Tumpat in Kelantan and goes through the railway station in Mentakab. East Coast Expressway
The East Coast Expressway is an interstate controlled-access highway running parallel to the northeastern coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The currently operational segment of the expressway runs between Karak, Pahang and Kuala Nerus, Terengganu. The East Coast Expressway serves as the high-speed alternative to the existing federal routes 2 and 3, which it parallels. Pahang River
The Pahang River ( ms, Sungai Pahang) is a river that flows through the state of Pahang, Malaysia. At 459 km in length, it is the longest river on the Malay Peninsula. The river begins at the confluence of Jelai and Tembeling rivers on the Titiwangsa Mountains and drains into the South China Sea. Kerdau
Kerdau (Pahang Malay: ''Keghda'') is a mukim in Temerloh District, Pahang, Malaysia. This settlement in Kerdau, has been open since 1800. The name Kerdau was taken from the tree. In the past, this village was planted with Kerdau trees and this Kerdau tree is used as a decoration by local residence when dignitaries visit this area. Previously, Kerdau had been nicknamed as the city of cowboys because the row of traditional shops in the city still retains the identity of its 1940s even though the country is on the verge of more than 50 years of independence. Pahang Malay (Standard Malay: ; Jawi: ) is a Malayic language spoken in the Malaysian state of Pahang. It is regarded as the dominant Malay dialect spoken along the vast riverine systems of Pahang, but co-exists with other Malay dialects traditionally spoken in the state. Along the coastline of Pahang, Terengganu Malay is spoken in a narrow strip of sometimes discontiguous fishing villages and towns. Pakatan Harapan
The Alliance of Hope ( ms, Pakatan Harapan; abbrev: PH; stylized as HARAPAN) is a Malaysian political coalition consisting of centre-left political parties which was formed in 2015 to succeed the Pakatan Rakyat coalition. Lanchang
Lanchang is a small town in Temerloh District, Pahang, Malaysia. It is accessible via the East Coast Expressway's Lanchang Interchange. The Kuala Gandah Elephant Conservation Centre is situated in Lanchang. This is the main attraction of this small town apart from agriculture and the many Felda projects of both rubber and palm oil plantations.
