Perak () is a state of Malaysia on the west coast of the Malay Peninsula. 2022 Perak State Election
The 2022 Perak state election, formally the 15th Perak state election, took place on 19 November 2022. This election was to elect 59 members of the 15th Perak State Legislative Assembly. The previous assembly was dissolved on 17 October 2022. The results of the election resulted in a hung assembly, Perikatan Nasional (PN) won 26 seats, Pakatan Harapan (PH) won 24 while the incumbent Barisan Nasional (BN) which led the administration before election, only won 9. However, two days after the election, caretaker Menteri Besar Saarani Mohammad was reappointed to the position and the state government was formed on 21 November 2022 after the agreement of BN and PH to form the coalition government, it exceeded the simple majority support of 30 members of the assembly (MLAs) required to form the state government. Gerik ( Jawi: ڬريق; ; Tamil: கிரிக் ; alternate spelling: Grik) is a mukim and the district capital of Hulu Perak District, Perak, Malaysia. The town is also known as Rest Town owing to its strategic location next to East-West Highway , the main route linking Kedah, Penang and Kelantan. History From the historical records, the first person to enter Gerik was Tun Saban, the son of Tun Perak, and the treasurer of the Malacca Sultanate in the early 16th century. Wan Mohamed Wan Teh
Wan Mohamed bin Wan Teh was the 7th Menteri Besar of Perak from 1 October 1977 to 1 March 1983. He was also the Member of Perak State Legislative Assembly for Grik from 1969 to 1974, Temengor from 1974 to 1978 and Kenering from 1978 to 1983. Hasbullah Osman
Hasbullah bin Osman (17 February 1957 – 16 November 2020) was a Malaysian politician who served as Chairman of the Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB) from May 2020, Member of Parliament (MP) for Gerik from May 2013 to his death in November 2020 and Member of the Perak State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Temenggor from March 2004 to May 2013.
