Telnet Japan
was a Japanese video game and software developer founded in October 1983 by Kazuyuki Fukushima. The company had several video game divisions including: Wolf Team, Laser Soft, Reno, Renovation Products, Riot, Commseed, and Telenet Jr. Telenet Japan's North American subsidiary, Renovation Products, was acquired by Sega of America in 1993. With debt of , the company ceased operating in late September 2007 and closed its doors on October 25. Sunsoft acquired Telenet's entire software library in December 2009, citing plans to remake or re-release (via Virtual Console) the old titles. The Japanese company Edia acquired Telenet's catalogue from City Connection in January 2020. Riot The Riot division came into existence in 1991 when Telenet Japan was expanding in the country. Beast Wrestler
is a 1991 fighting game published for the Mega Drive in Japan and North America. The game's cover art was created by Yasushi Nirasawa, in his position as a model-builder for Hobby Japan magazine. Gameplay ''Beast Wrestler'' is a wrestling beat 'em up video game containing two modes: Match and Tournament. Match is a single-round that can be played with two human players or one player and a computer opponent, whereas Tournament has multiple rounds and requires the player to showdown with every beast in the game. Reception The presentation, although generally the most-well received aspect of ''Beast Wrestler'', garnered a mixed response. ''Joystick'' called it the best part. ''Eagle Eye Golf'' is a golf video game developed by Telenet Japan for the PlayStation 2. It was originally released in Japan in 2005, as ''Enjoy Golf!'' The following year, it was published in the US and UK as ''Eagle Eye Golf''. It received "mixed or average" reviews according to Metacritic. Gameplay ''Eagle Eye Golf'' has several playable golfers with a limited number of customization options. The game has seven fictional golf courses and includes a course creator, allowing the player to design courses with custom features such as slopes and hazards. Most of the seven courses, as well as golfing items, can be unlocked by playing through the various game modes, such as Tournament. Other modes include Training, in which the player can practice golfing; and Mission, in which the player must complete a series of specific golf moves. ''Swingerz Golf'' (''Ace Golf'' in Europe and in Japan) is a sports video game released by Telenet Japan in 2002. It is a golf simulation game that allows the player to choose from 14 different characters, each with different strengths and weaknesses, to play on any of the game's 6 courses, varying greatly in difficulty and atmosphere. Along with normal match and stroke modes of play, the game offers a tour mode, which simulates the career of a chosen character, a mission mode, consisting of a series of challenges that gradually increase in difficulty, and minigames, including a sudden death style of gameplay and a near-pin style of gameplay.
