Teleroboxer
is a game for Nintendo's Virtual Boy video game console. The game is a boxing simulator played in the first-person point of view. Gameplay and premise ''Teleroboxer'' takes place in the 22nd century, when a technology called "Telerobotics" is used, allowing people to control robots to do tasks not normally doable by humans. Teleroboxing was created by Dr. Edward Maki Jr., involving two robots boxing against each other. Development ''Teleroboxer'' was originally known as ''Teleroboxing'', and was displayed at the 1994 Consumer Electronics Show. Like all other Virtual Boy games, ''Teleroboxer'' uses a red-and-black color scheme and uses parallax, an optical trick that is used to simulate a 3D effect. Reception ''Teleroboxer'' received mixed to positive reviews. On release, ''Famicom Tsūshin'' gave the game a score of 23 out of 40. Author Steve L. Virtual Boy
The Virtual Boy is a 32-bit tabletop portable video game console developed and manufactured by Nintendo. Released in 1995, it was marketed as the first console capable of displaying stereoscopic "3D" graphics. The player uses the console like a head-mounted display, placing the head against the eyepiece to see a red monochrome display. The games use a parallax effect to create the illusion of depth. Sales failed to meet targets, and Nintendo ceased distribution and game development in 1996, having released only 22 games for the system. Development of the Virtual Boy lasted four years and began under the project name VR32. Nintendo entered a licensing agreement to use a stereoscopic LED eyepiece technology which had been developed since the 1980s by US company Reflection Technology. commonly abbreviated as Nintendo R&D1, was Nintendo's oldest video game development team. It was known as before splitting in 1978. Its creation coincided with Nintendo's entry into the video game industry, and the original R&D1 was headed by Gunpei Yokoi. Makoto Kano (video Game Designer)
, also credited as Makoto Kanoh pre-1995, is a Japanese game designer and supervisor. He was born in Kyoto, Japan. Kano began working for Nintendo in 1974. He was one of the original designers in Nintendo's creative department. Originally, he designed toys and board games before working on the Nintendo Beam Gun series. Kano eventually became one of the lead designers of the '' Game & Watch'' series. Yoshio Sakamoto
(born July 23, 1959) is a Japanese video game designer, director, and producer. He has worked at Nintendo since 1982. He has directed several games in the ''Metroid'' series. He is one of the most prominent members of Nintendo's former Research and Development 1 division, along with Gunpei Yokoi and Toru Osawa. Career Sakamoto is a key member in the development of the ''Metroid'' series. Sakamoto grew up with Nintendo toys, which he felt were inventive. The company hired him in 1982, when he graduated from art college.
