Teesside Lions
The Teesside Lions are an English basketball club from the town of Middlesbrough in the northeast of England. The Lions compete in National Basketball League Division 3, and play their home games at Eston Sports Academy. History Founded in 2007 as the Middlesbrough Lions, the organisation made an early impact on the national scene, entering the National League after strong performances in the National Founders Cup, an annual knockout competition for non-league clubs. The club participated in the National League from 2010 to 2013, before dropping back down into the regional league as the newly named Teesside Lions. The Lions announced plans to re-enter National League Division 3 for the 2019–20 season. In January 2019, the club announced plans to bring professional basketball to the area. English Basketball League
The National Basketball League, or NBL for short, is a league competition representing semi-professional and amateur basketball clubs from England and Wales. It forms levels 2 to 4 on the British basketball pyramid, in line with the Scottish Basketball Championship, sitting directly below the top tier British Basketball League. Middlesbrough
Middlesbrough ( ) is a town on the southern bank of the River Tees in North Yorkshire, England. It is near the North York Moors national park. 2019–20 National Basketball League (England) Season
The 2019–20 season of the English Men's National Basketball League, known as the NBL, was the 48th edition of the league. Solent Kestrels were league champions for the second consecutive year. Following the 2018–19 season, the league structure was reorganised. Division 2 was regionalised into North and South regions, while Divisions 3 and 4 were merged to form 5 regional leagues. 2020–21 National Basketball League (England) Season
The 2020–21 NBL season was the 49th edition of the English Men's National Basketball League. It was announced that there would be no promotion or relegation following the 2020–21 season, due to the ongoing impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The NBL2 and NBL3 seasons were indefinitely suspended, later cancelled, and the NBL1 season structure was revised into regionalised schedules, due to the ongoing situation presented by the pandemic. The Worcester Wolves are a basketball club in Worcester, England, Worcester, England. The team plays in the National Basketball League (England), NBL Division 2, the third tier of British basketball. Basketball is a team sport in which two teams, most commonly of five players each, opposing one another on a rectangular court, compete with the primary objective of shooting a basketball (approximately in diameter) through the defender's hoop (a basket in diameter mounted high to a backboard at each end of the court, while preventing the opposing team from shooting through their own hoop.
