Team FOG Næstved is a professional basketball team from Næstved, Denmark, playing in the best Danish basketball league, Basketligaen. The team won its first title in 2017, where they won the Danish Basketball Cup. Their current head coach is Andy Hipsher. The team is named after the former supermarket chain FOG. In the 2015–16 Basketligaen season, the club had the highest average attendances in the league's regular season, as the club finishing third. In the 2016–17 season, FOG once again had the highest average attendance in the league's regular season with an average of 1,168 attendants per game. Basketligaen
The Basketligaen (English: The Basketball League) is the highest professional basketball league in Denmark. The men’s first division was originally founded in 1957. Over the years, the league has undergone several name changes due to sponsorship deals. It was formerly known as Canal Digital Ligaen, Jordanligaen, and Premierligaen, among other names, including Elitedivisionen and 1. division. The current iteration of the league was officially established in 1998, though it has occasionally operated without a sponsor name. The Bakken Bears are the league’s all-time record holders, having won 18 titles. BMS is notable for securing 5 consecutive titles from 1986 to 1990. The league’s main TV partner is Sport Live. Lee Roberts (basketball)
Lee Roberts (born February 10, 1987) is an American professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the Findlay Oilers between 2005 and 2009, where he won an NCAA Division II national championship as a senior. Since 2011, Roberts has had consistent yearly stints in the NBL1 West in Australia. He has also consistently played seasons in South America since 2012. Early life Roberts was born in Seattle, Washington to army parents. He lived in Seattle for seven years before moving to Alaska, where he spent 2½ years before to moving to Cleveland, Ohio. He attended middle school and high school in the Cleveland area, as he played basketball for Midpark High School in Middleburg Heights. The 2019–20 Basketligaen is the 45th season of the highest professional basketball tier in Denmark. The season started on 22 September 2019 and was scheduled to end on 13 May 2020. On 17 March 2020, the season was ended prematurely because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on the standings at that time, the Bakken Bears were named Danish champions, defending their title. Competition format Teams were divided into two groups: Pro A, joined by the best five teams in the previous season, and Pro B, the rest of the teams. Each team was scheduled to play four times against each other team in their group, and twice with teams from the other group. Bakken Bears was the defending champion, and won the championship again after beating Horsens IC in the play-off finals.
