Tea Tree Gully Football Club
The Tea Tree Gully District Football Club is an Australian rules football club located in Banksia Park, South Australia. Tea Tree Gully currently plays in the Adelaide Footy League, formerly known as the "South Australian Amateur Football League" (SAAFL). History The club was originally part of " Modbury F.C." in 1862, but it soon split apart from them to form their own institution. Tea Tree played its first game against the "Adelaidians" in a paddock near Modbury on 30 August 1862. It ended when the "Adelaidians" scored their second goal and won the game. The club's original home was at Memorial Oval, operating out of a tin shed. These relatively primitive facilities prevailed until its current home at Pertaringa Oval was opened in 1964. Originally the club played in the double blue colours associated with Sturt, before switching to the black and red that has been the club's colours to this day. The Adelaide Footy League, formerly known as the South Australian Amateur Football League (SAAFL), is a semi-professional Australian rules football competition based in Adelaide, South Australia. Comprising sixty-seven member clubs playing over one hundred and ten matches per week, the SAAFL is one of Australia's largest Australian rules football associations. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Modbury Football Club
The Modbury Football Club (nicknamed the ''Hawks'') is an Australian rules football club based in Modbury, a suburb of Adelaide in South Australia. Formed in 1862, the Modbury Football Club is the oldest extant football club in South Australia and the sixth oldest football club of any code in Australia. The Modbury Hawks currently field 30 teams. Senior teams compete in the South Australian Amateur Football League and junior teams in the North Eastern Metropolitan Junior Football League. It also now fields a women's team and an under-18 girls' team in the SAWFL. The club has over 550 registered players. Modbury is a suburb of Adelaide, South Australia in the City of Tea Tree Gully. Modbury is located at the end of the Adelaide O-Bahn and is home to the Tea Tree Plaza shopping complex and a Hospital. It was named Modbury by R. S. Kelly, on 1 September 1840, after his native town in Devonshire. Daniel Gorringe (born 2 June 1992) is an Australian media personality and former professional Australian rules footballer who played for and . Ryan Schoenmakers (born 8 November 1990) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Hawthorn Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Carl Dennis Campbell Sr. (July 28, 1935 – November 12, 1997) was an American professional wrestler better known by his ring name ''Luke "Big Boy" Brown''.
