Tazón México
The Tazón México (English: Mexico Bowl) is the annual championship game of the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional, the highest level of professional American football in Mexico. As with the Super Bowl, Roman numerals are used to identify each game, rather than the year in which it is held. The game was typically played on the last Sunday of April, but from the 2019 season will be played on the second Sunday of May. Of the twelve teams that have competed in LFA, seven had appeared in Tazón Mexico. Four teams had won the championship at least once. History The Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional, LFA held the first two Tazón México games at Estadio Jesús Martínez "Palillo" in the Magdalena Mixhuca Sports City in Mexico City in 2016 and 2017. Raptors de Naucalpan (English: ''Naucalpan Raptors'') are an American football team based in Naucalpan, Mexico. The Raptors compete in the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional, the top American football league in Mexico. The team plays its home games at the Estadio José Ortega Martínez. Despite never winning an LFA title, the Raptors are the only team to have reached playoffs every season. The Mayas, also called Mayas LFA or Mayas Puebla, were an American football team based in Mexico City (CDMX), Mexico. The Mayas competed in the Central Division of the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional, the top American football league in Mexico. The Mayas played their home games at the Estadio Wilfrido Massieu. Mayas was the most successful team in the LFA until it folded in 2020, winning the championship twice in 2016 and 2017, and qualifying for playoffs every season as of 2019. Condors CDMX
The Condors LFA or Condors CDMX, were an American football team that began in Mexico City, Mexico. The Condors competed in the LFA, the top American football league in Mexico. The team had won Tazon Mexico IV. History The team was founded in 2015 as one of the charter members of the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional, alongside Eagles, Mayas and Raptors. The club's name and colours were chosen as a remembrance to the defunct college football team Cóndores of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, which played from 1970 to 1998, winning 10 National Championships. Thus, most of the players that were in the team's squad for the first season had played their college career at UNAM's teams. Dinos de Saltillo (English: ''Saltillo Dinos'') are an American football team based in Saltillo, Mexico. The Dinos compete in the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional, the top American football league in Mexico. The team plays its home games at the Estadio Francisco I. Madero. History The team was founded on 28 September 2016, in resemblance of the semi-professional team with the same name that played in the Mexican Master Football League from 1995 to 1996 in the city of Saltillo. The Estadio Caliente Xoloitzcuintles is a multi-use stadium in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico, that is mostly used for football matches. The stadium hosts home matches for the football club Club Tijuana, who play in Liga MX, Mexico's top league. 2022 LFA Season
The 2022 LFA season was the seventh season of operation (sixth season of play) of the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional (LFA), the top American football league in Mexico. The regular season began on 4 March and concluded on 24 April, with the playoffs beginning on April 30 and ending with the Tazón México V, on 21 May. Fundidores won their first LFA championship after defeating Gallos Negros 18–14 in the Tazón México V, played in Tijuana. The 2019 LFA season was the fourth season of the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional, the top American football league in Mexico. The regular season began on February 22 and concluded on April 14. The playoffs commenced on April 26 and concluded on May 12 with the Condors defeating the Raptors to win the Tazón México IV. Guillermo Villalobos
Guillermo Alberto Villalobos Zanabria (born 24 July 1991) is a Mexican professional gridiron football wide receiver for the Mexicas CDMX of the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional (LFA). He played college football at ITESM CEM. Villalobo was drafted in the 2019 CFL-LFA Draft and played during two seasons for the Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). 2018 LFA Season
The 2018 LFA season was the third season of the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional. The season saw all previous teams return with no additional new ones. The Eagles changed their team name to the Mexicas. This would be the first season that saw the championship, the Tazón México held at a neutral site of the Estadio Azul in Mexico City.
