The Condors LFA or Condors CDMX, were an American football team that began in Mexico City, Mexico. The Condors competed in the LFA, the top American football league in Mexico. The team had won Tazon Mexico IV. History The team was founded in 2015 as one of the charter members of the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional, alongside Eagles, Mayas and Raptors. The club's name and colours were chosen as a remembrance to the defunct college football team Cóndores of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, which played from 1970 to 1998, winning 10 National Championships. Thus, most of the players that were in the team's squad for the first season had played their college career at UNAM's teams. A group of Cóndores and Pumas CU fans created the first Condors' fan group, known as Legión Cóndor (Condor Legion). 2021 LFA Season
The 2021 LFA season would have been the sixth season of the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional (LFA), the top American football league in Mexico. Initially, the regular season was scheduled to begin in March 2021. However, the kickoff date was pushed back three months, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, with the season intended to start on 4 June 2021. In April 2021, however, the league confirmed the cancelation of the 2021 season due to the pandemic, stating that it would be almost impossible to play from June to September and then again start the next season in February 2022, thus, choosing not to play the 2021 season. Raptors de Naucalpan (English: ''Naucalpan Raptors'') are an American football team based in Naucalpan, Mexico. The Raptors compete in the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional, the top American football league in Mexico. The team plays its home games at the Estadio José Ortega Martínez. The 2019 LFA season was the fourth season of the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional, the top American football league in Mexico. The regular season began on February 22 and concluded on April 14. The playoffs commenced on April 26 and concluded on May 12 with the Condors defeating the Raptors to win the Tazón México IV. 2018 LFA Season
The 2018 LFA season was the third season of the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional. The season saw all previous teams return with no additional new ones. The Eagles changed their team name to the Mexicas. This would be the first season that saw the championship, the Tazón México held at a neutral site of the Estadio Azul in Mexico City. The league season began on February 16 and concluded on the April 8. The playoffs began on the April 14 and concluded on April 22 with the Mexicas beating the Raptors in Taźon México III. The 2017 LFA season was the second season of the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional. This season saw two new franchises join the league: Dinos(short for "dinosaurios", the Spanish word for dinosaurs) and Fundidores(Spanish for smelters or founders) to bring the league to a total of 6 teams. The regular season began on February 18 and concluded on April 9. The Tazón México II was played on April 30 with the Mayas defeating the Raptors to win their second LFA championship. News On September 28, 2016, the LFA announced its expansion for the 2017 season: the Monterrey Founders and the Saltillo Dinos. Prior to the Mexico II Bowl, the visiting team, Dinos, was about to cancel the match since they had to travel by bus 10 hours from Saltillo to Mexico City, get to play and return immediately, with no opportunity to train or rest before the game, which put them at a notable disadvantage. The 2022 LFA season was the seventh season of operation (sixth season of play) of the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional (LFA), the top American football league in Mexico. The regular season began on 4 March and concluded on 24 April, with the playoffs beginning on April 30 and ending with the Tazón México V, on 21 May. Fundidores won their first LFA championship after defeating Gallos Negros 18–14 in the Tazón México V, played in Tijuana. Preseason events Expansion Two new teams joined the league for the 2021 season: Galgos de Tijuana, based in Tijuana, and Reyes de Jalisco, based in Zapopan, Jalisco.
