Recep Tayyip Erdoğan (born 26 February 1954) is a Turkish politician who is the 12th and current president of Turkey since 2014. He previously served as the 25th prime minister of Turkey, prime minister from 2003 to 2014 as part of the Justice and Development Party (Turkey), Justice and Development Party (AKP), which he co-founded in 2001. He also served as mayor of Istanbul from 1994 to 1998. Coming from an Islamist background and promoting socially conservative policies, Turkey has experienced increasing authoritarianism, democratic backsliding and suppression of dissent under Erdoğan's rule. Tayyip Talha Sanuç (born 17 December 1999) is a Turkish professional footballer who plays as a defender for Süper Lig side Beşiktaş and the Turkey national team. Professional career Sanuç is a youth product of Karabükspor, and was promoted to their first team in 2017. He made his professional debut for Karabükspor in a 3-2 Süper Lig victory over Akhisar Belediyespor on 2 June 2017 at the age of 17. On 17 July 2018, he was transferred to Adana Demirspor.
