Taylor Alley
Jonathan Taylor Alley is an American rugby league footballer and coach for the Central Florida Warriors. He was selected to represent the United States in the 2017 Rugby League World Cup. Playing career He has played for the Jacksonville Axemen and was part of their 2012 premiership winning side and also for the UNF (University of North Florida) Deadbirds rugby union team. He has played for the Narooma Devils in the Group 16 Rugby League on the New South Wales South Coast. He scored 2 tries for the United States in their 36-18 victory over Canada in October 2017. Central Florida Warriors
The Central Florida Warriors were a semi-professional rugby league team based in DeLand, Florida United States. They competed in the USA Rugby League (USARL) in the Southeast Rugby League Conference. They play their home games at Spec Martin Stadium. History The Warriors were founded in March, 2014 as part of an expansion by the USARL to represent the Central Florida area from Daytona to Orlando in the sport of rugby league. Along with fellow new clubs the Atlanta Rhinos and Tampa Mayhem they joined The Jacksonville Axemen to form the USARL South Conference. The Warriors name was used as a way to pay tribute to all the military men and women who have served the United States. The Canada national rugby league team represents Canada in international rugby league football tournaments. History 1987–2000: Origins Rugby league was first introduced to Canada in the 1900s but was quickly outlawed by Rugby Union officials and thus became Canadian Football. It was not until the late 1980s that rugby league was re-introduced to Canada at an amateur level, when a short-lived 4-team domestic competition, known as the Tri-Counties Rugby League, was established. Four teams competed in its first year, three in Canada and one in the U.S., the New York-based Adirondacks club. The Canadian national team played their first game in 1987 against the USA. The United States national rugby league team represents the United States in international rugby league football competitions. The team is managed by the USA Rugby League (USARL). The United States competed with little success in some international games during the 1950s, but did not return to consistent competition until 1987.
