Tashkent Challenger
The Tashkent Challenger is a tennis List of tennis tournaments, tournament held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan since 2008. It is currently part of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) ATP Challenger Tour, Challenger Tour and is played on outdoor hard courts. Between 1997 and 2002, there was a tournament of a level equivalent to what today is the ATP 250 series, played in Tashkent, the ATP Tashkent Open, Tashkent Open. Tashkent
Tashkent (, uz, Toshkent, Тошкент/, ) (from russian: Ташкент), or Toshkent (; ), also historically known as Chach is the capital and largest city of Uzbekistan. It is the most populous city in Central Asia, with a population of 2,909,500 (2022). It is in northeastern Uzbekistan, near the border with Kazakhstan. Tashkent comes from the Turkic ''tash'' and ''kent'', literally translated as "Stone City" or "City of Stones". Before Islamic influence started in the mid-8th century AD, Tashkent was influenced by the Sogdian and Turkic cultures. After Genghis Khan destroyed it in 1219, it was rebuilt and profited from the Silk Road. From the 18th to the 19th century, the city became an independent city-state, before being re-conquered by the Khanate of Kokand. Gilles Müller
Gilles Müller (; born 9 May 1983) is a former professional tennis player from Luxembourg. He is a two-time Grand Slam quarterfinalist and the most successful male tennis player in the history of his country. Müller won two titles on the ATP World Tour and achieved a career-high ATP singles ranking of world No. 21 on 31 July 2017. He was known for his powerful left-handed serve and excellent net skills. Following his retirement, Müller was appointed as Luxembourg's Davis Cup team captain. Karol Beck
Karol Beck (born 3 April 1982) is a male former tennis player from Slovakia, who turned professional in 2001. His career-high singles ranking is World No. 36, achieved in August 2005. Beck reached the fourth round of the 2004 US Open and the quarterfinals of the 2005 Montreal Masters, defeating Nikolay Davydenko en route to both runs. Career On 25 October 2004, Beck lost in the final of the St. Petersburg Open to Mikhail Youzhny 6–2, 6–2. Jürgen Zopp
Jürgen Zopp (born 29 March 1988) is a retired professional Estonian tennis player. He is Estonia's all-time highest ranked male tennis player with a career-high singles ranking of World No. 71 in 2012. Career Zopp started playing tennis at the age of 6 and grew up idolizing Pete Sampras, Marat Safin, and Roger Federer. Uladzimir Iharavich Ignatik ( be, Уладзімір Ігаравіч Ігнацік, Ihnatsik; russian: Владимир Игоревич Игнатик; born 14 July 1990 in Belarus) is a Belarusian professional tennis player. David "Dudi" Sela ( he, דודי סלע; born 4 April 1985) is an Israeli professional tennis player. He reached a career-high singles ranking of World No. 29 in July 2009. Sela won the French Open 2003 junior doubles title.
