Tart 'n' Tinys
Tart 'n' Tinys are small, fruit-flavored candies distributed by Leaf Brands. Tart 'n' Tiny's were originally manufactured by the Wonka company in five colors, bluish-purple (grape), yellow (lemon), orange (orange), red (cherry), and green (lime). In 2015 when they were reintroduced, they added a new color, light blue (blue raspberry). The original incarnation of Tart 'n' Tinys candies were small cylinders of compressed dextrose. The candy had a chalky appearance and consistency, with a firm crunch that would crumble in the mouth, similar to SweeTarts or Smarties. Leaf Brands, LLC is a candy company based in Newport Coast, Newport Beach, California. The original Leaf International (also known as the "Leaf Candy Company") started in the 1940s. Leaf International was once the fourth largest candy producer in North America, producing such products as Whoppers, Jolly Rancher, Milk Duds, Rain-Blo bubble gum, the Heath bar and PayDay, before it sold the U.S. division to The Hershey Company in 1996 and left the United States. In 2011, the company was revived, and the newly re-formed company made its official debut at the 2011 Sweets & Snacks Expo. Ellia Kassoff, the nephew of Ed Leaf, (possibly a relative of Sol S. Nestlé Candy Shop (formerly The Willy Wonka Candy Company) was a confectionery brand owned and licensed by the Swiss corporation Nestlé. In 2018, the branding and production rights were sold to the Ferrero Group, and as a result, the brand was discontinued. SweeTarts (; officially stylized as SweeTARTS) are sweet and sour candies invented under the direction of Menlo F. Smith, CEO of Sunline Inc., in 1962. The candy was created using the same basic recipe as the already popular Pixy Stix and Lik-M-Aid (Fun Dip) products in order to broaden the market for the tangy taste sensation. In the United States, Smarties are a type of tablet candy produced by Smarties Candy Company, formerly known as Ce De Candy Inc., since 1949. Smarties are produced in factories in both Union Township, New Jersey, and Newmarket, Ontario. The candies distributed in Canada are marketed as Rockets, to avoid confusion with Smarties, a chocolate candy produced by Nestlé which owns the trademark in Canada. Nerds are an American candy launched in 1983 by the Sunmark Corporation under the brand name Willy Wonka Candy Company. Nerds are now made by the Ferrara Candy Company, a subsidiary of Ferrero Group. They are shaped about the size of an United States, American Half dollar (United States coin), half dollar coin and come in five flavors: banana, green apple, watermelon, orange, and strawberry. Sold in a clear plastic wrapper, you can see the long strip of multi-colored and flavored Wacky Wafers inside. Before being purchased by Leaf, they were part of The Willy Wonka Candy Company line available in the United States.
