The word Tarbut (תרבות) means "Culture" in Hebrew. The Tarbut movement was a network of secular, Hebrew-language schools in parts of the former Jewish Pale of Settlement, specifically in Poland, Romania and Lithuania. It operated primarily between the world wars. Some schools affiliated with the movement continue to operate today and new ones were established in the United States and other destinations of emigrants from central and eastern Europe. Colegio Tarbut ( he, בית ספר תרבות) is a Jewish mixed-sex private school founded in 1961 in the city of Olivos, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina. It offers early childhood, primary, and secondary education. The institution comprises a school in Olivos and two kindergartens in Belgrano and Tigre. Colegio Tarbut finished building a new secondary school in the Buenos Aires neighbourhood of Núñez, which opened in 2016. Hebrew
Hebrew (; ; ) is a Northwest Semitic language of the Afroasiatic language family.
