Tara George
Tara George ( Coulterman; born September 15, 1973, in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario) is a Canadian curling, curler from Thunder Bay. She formerly played third for the Krista McCarville rink. George joined up with McCarville in 2005, when she added McCarville to her team that she skipped that included Lorraine Lang and Tiffany Stubbings. George has won four Ontario provincial titles as a member of the McCarville rink. George took the 2010-11 season off to have a baby and was replaced by Ashley Miharija. Curling
Curling is a sport in which players slide stones on a sheet of ice toward a target area which is segmented into four concentric circles. It is related to bowls, boules, and shuffleboard. Two teams, each with four players, take turns sliding heavy, polished granite stones, also called ''rocks'', across the ice ''curling sheet'' toward the ''house'', a circular target marked on the ice. Each team has eight stones, with each player throwing two. The purpose is to accumulate the highest score for a ''game''; points are scored for the stones resting closest to the centre of the house at the conclusion of each ''end'', which is completed when both teams have thrown all of their stones once. A game usually consists of eight or ten ends. The player can induce a curved path, described as ''curl'', by causing the stone to slowly rotate as it slides. Lorraine Lang
Lorraine Lang (born October 8, 1956, Port Arthur, Ontario as Lorraine Edwards) is a Canadian curler from Thunder Bay, Ontario. Lang is a two-time Tournament of Hearts champion and World Champion. Curling career In 1981, Lang won the Canadian Mixed Curling Championship playing lead for her future husband Rick Lang. Lang played in her first Scott Tournament of Hearts in 1983 as a third for Anne Provo. The team finished 4–6. She returned to the Hearts in 1988 as Heather Houston's third. At the 1988 Hearts, the team had to win two tie-breakers before winning two playoff games to claim the championship. They defeated the defending champion Pat Sanders. At the 1988 World Championships, the team won the silver medal, losing to Germany's Andrea Schöpp in the final. The Hearts victory gave them a berth at the 1989 Scott Tournament of Hearts. Ashley Miharija
Ashley Sippala (born Ashley Miharija, January 21, 1987) is a Canadian curler. Sippala currently plays front-end on the Krista McCarville rink. Career Sippala's first major curling event was when she played third for Mike Assad's Northern Ontario team at the 2008 Canadian Mixed Curling Championship. The team finished 6–5. Sippala skipped Team Northern Ontario at the 2008 Canadian Junior Curling Championships. Her rink of Jessica Williams, Jenna Enge and Sarah Lang finished with an 8–4 record, before losing in a tie-breaker match to Saskatchewan. The following season, Sippala qualified for her first women's provincial championship. She skipped her Port Arthur Curling Club rink to a 4–5 record at the 2009 Ontario Scotties Tournament of Hearts.
