Tanéné, Boké
Tanéné is a small town and sub-prefecture in the Boké Prefecture in the Boké Region of Maritime Guinea between Boffa, Fria, and Conakry (Guinea Guinea, officially the Republic of Guinea, is a coastal country in West Africa. The village has been growing rapidly since the construction of a bridge on the Fatala (also known as Rio Pongo downstream) in Boffa. For instance, the population of Guémèyiré on the right bank of the Rio Pongo has mainly moved to Tanéné. The economy is focused on small business generated by passengers swapping taxis. Boké Region () is located in western Guinea. It is bordered by the countries of Senegal and Guinea-Bissau and the Guinean regions of Kindia and Labé. Its capital is the city of Boké. Fria
Fria is a town and Sub-prefecture in Lower Guinea, lying north of Conakry near the Amaria Dam on the Konkouré River. As of 2014 it had a population of 61,691 people. Overview There are some variations in the name of the town: Friguia, Kimbo or Kimbo-city. Fria is known for its local caves, the Grottes de Bogoro and the Grottes de Konkouré). The town's economy relies heavily upon bauxite mining and aluminum production. The town of Fria was built around a company called Kimbo-Fria, now ACG Fria (Aluminum Company of Guinea), Africa's first aluminum factory. Konkouré River
The Konkouré River arises in west-central Guinea and flows into the Atlantic Ocean. Several dams on the river provide the country with much of its electricity. Geography The river originates in the Futa Jallon highland region and flows in a westerly direction to the Atlantic Ocean north of the Baie de Sangareya (Sangareya Bay) at 9°46'N, 14°19'W. The Kakrima River is its major tributary. The river delta covers . Vessels of up to draft can navigate upstream to Konkouré; beyond that point, there are rapids. Environment The upper river flows over a rocky substrate with many rapids and waterfalls, making it unsuitable for navigation, though it does make it suitable for electricity production.
