Tanzhesi Town () is a town located in southeastern Mentougou District, Beijing, China. It borders Dongxinfang Subdistrict, Yongding and Longquan Towns in the north, Yongding and Wangzuo Towns in the east, Qinglonghu and Hebei Towns in the south, and Fozizhuang Township in the west. Its population was 11,053 in 2020. The name Tanzhesi refers to Tanzhe Temple that is located inside the town. Mentougou District
Mentougou District () is a district in western Beijing. Spanning , with 266,591 inhabitants (2000 Census), it is subdivided into 4 subdistricts of the city proper of Beijing and 9 towns (1 of which is a suburb of the city proper of Beijing). It borders the Beijing districts of Changping to the northeast, Haidian and Shijingshan to the east, Fengtai to the southeast, and Fangshan to the south, as well as Hebei province to the west and northwest. It lies in the Western Hills of Beijing and is mountainous in terrain. In fact, the mountainous terrain—including a hundred or more peaks—occupy a stunning 93% of the entire area. This is a list of township-level divisions of the municipality of Beijing, People's Republic of China (PRC). After province, prefecture, and county-level divisions, township-level divisions constitute the formal fourth-level administrative divisions of the PRC. Tanzhe Temple
The Tanzhe Temple () is a Buddhist temple situated in the Western Hills, a mountainous area in western Beijing. At one time, it was one of the most important temples in the nation. The temple is located near China National Highway 108 in the Mentougou District of Beijing. Built in the Jin Dynasty (266–420), it has an age of around 1,700 years. Tanzhe Temple is one of the oldest temples in Beijing. The area of the entire temple is 100 mu (area), mu (6.8 hectares), and its arrangement of halls is akin to that found in the Ming Dynasty, Ming and Qing Dynasty, Qing dynasties. Wangzuo Subdistrict () a town on the southwest of Fengtai District, Beijing, China. It is bordering Yongding Township to the north, Beigong Town and Yungang Subdistrict to the east, Changyang Town, Gongcheng and Xilu Subdistricts to the south, Qinglonghu and Tantuosi Towns to the west. Longquan Town () is a town that lies on the eastern side of Mentougou District, Beijing, China. It borders Miaofengshan and Junzhuang Towns to the north, Wulituo and Guangning Subdistricts to the east, Yongding and Tantuo Towns to the south, Yongding and Wangping to the west. Yongding Town () is a town that the southeastern corner of Mentougou District, Beijing, China. It borders Longquan Town, Dayu and Guangning Subdistricts in the north, Gucheng Subdistrict in the east, Wangzuo Town and Beigong Town in the south, Tantuosi Town in the west, and has an exclave north of Tantuosi. Dongxinfang Subdistrict () is a subdistrict located within within Mentougou District, Beijing, China.
