Tanya Gadiel
Tanya Rachelle Gadiel, ''née'' Barber (born 21 November 1972), a former Australian politician, was a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly between 2003–2011, representing the electorate of electoral district of Parramatta, Parramatta for the Australian Labor Party (New South Wales Branch), Labor Party. During her term in Parliament, Gadiel was Deputy Speaker of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly in the Kristina Keneally Labor Government. On 8 December 2010, Gadiel announced that she would not contest the 2011 New South Wales state election, 2011 state election. 2011 New South Wales State Election
Elections to the 55th Parliament of New South Wales were held on Saturday, 26 March 2011. The 16-year-incumbent Labor Party government led by Premier Kristina Keneally was defeated in a landslide by the Liberal–National Coalition opposition led by Barry O'Farrell. Labor suffered a two-party swing of 16.4 points, the largest against a sitting government at any level in Australia since World War II. From 48 seats at dissolution, Labor was knocked down to 20 seats—the worst defeat of a sitting government in New South Wales history, and one of the worst of a state government in Australia since federation. David Borger
David Lawrence Borger (born 7 September 1969) is a former Australian politician. He represented the Electoral district of Granville for the Labor Party in the New South Wales Legislative Assembly from 2007 until 2011. Borger was Minister for Roads, Housing and Minister for Western Sydney in the Rees and Keneally Labor Government. Borger was appointed the inaugural Western Sydney Director of the Sydney Business Chamber in September 2012. Early years Borger was an elected member of the Parramatta City Council, representing the Elizabeth Macarthur Ward, from 1995 to 2008. Elections to the 53rd Parliament of New South Wales were held on Saturday 22 March 2003. All seats in the Legislative Assembly and half the seats in the Legislative Council were up for election. The Labor Party led by Bob Carr won a third four-year term against the Liberal-National Coalition led by John Brogden. Michael Costa (politician)
Michael Costa (born 15 July 1956) is a former Australian Labor politician. He was a member of the New South Wales Legislative Council from 2001 until 2008, and Treasurer of New South Wales from 2006 to 2008 and held other ministerial portfolios in the governments of premiers Bob Carr and Morris Iemma. Early life and career Costa was born in Newcastle to Greek Cypriot migrants who came to Australia in the 1950s. In 1979, Costa began work as a rigger at the Garden Island naval dockyard. It was there where he was first involved with the Australian labour movement becoming a Delegate for the Federated Ironworkers' Association (now Australian Workers' Union).
