Tantra
Tantra (; sa, तन्त्र, lit=loom, weave, warp) are the esoteric traditions of Hinduism and Buddhism that developed on the Indian subcontinent from the middle of the 1st millennium CE onwards. The term ''tantra'', in the Indian traditions, also means any systematic broadly applicable "text, theory, system, method, instrument, technique or practice". Tantric sex or sexual yoga refers to a wide range of practices carried on in Hindu and Buddhist tantra to exercise sexuality in a ritualized or yogic context, often associated with antinomian or impure elements, like consumption of alcohol, and offerings of impure substances like meat to fierce deities. Tibetan Tantric Practice
Tibetan tantric practice, also known as "the practice of secret mantra", and "tantric techniques", refers to the main tantric practices in Tibetan Buddhism. The great Rime scholar Jamgön Kongtrül refers to this as "the Process of Meditation in the Indestructible Way of Secret Mantra" and also as "the way of mantra," "way of method" and "the secret way" in his ''Treasury of Knowledge''. Neotantra
Neotantra, navatantra (Sanskrit: नव, ''nava'' 'new') or tantric sexuality, is the modern, Western misinterpretation of Tantra associated with new religious movements. This includes both New Age and modern Western interpretations of traditional Hindu and Buddhist tantric sex. Some of its proponents refer to ancient and traditional texts and principles, and many others use tantra as a catch-all phrase for "sacred sexuality", and may incorporate unorthodox practices. The Buddhist Tantras are a varied group of Indian and Tibetan texts which outline unique views and practices of the Buddhist tantra religious systems. The album would eventually peak at No. 71 and was certified gold by the RIAA on November 30, 2001. The album released "Breakdown" as the lead single, and the follow-up singles " Astounded" and "Mourning". Background and recording In November 1998, after a turbulent relationship on the road, Todd Whitener, Jesse Vest, and Matt Taul were fired from the band Days of the New. The day they were fired, the three were cutting instrumental demos for what would become songs on ''Tantric''. However, in the meantime, Whitener, Vest, and Taul would have to survive through low-wage jobs.
