Tania Morales
Tania Paola Morales Bazarte (born 22 December 1986), known as Tania Morales, is a former Mexican footballer who last played as a midfielder in the Liga MX Femenil and the Mexico national team. Internationally, she has represented Mexico's under-20 and senior teams. From 2017 to 2021, she was a member of C. D. Guadalajara, nicknamed the ''Chivas'' and the ''Rebaño Sagrado'', where she was the team's captain. In 2022 she was traded to Cruz Azul where was also the captain. In 2023 she played with Queretaro. On 2 December 2023, Morales announced her retirement from football. Club career Tania Morales was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco on 22 December 1986. In 2017, Morales joined Guadalajara and was chosen as captain of the team for the inaugural season of the Liga MX Femenil. Liga MX Femenil
The Liga MX Femenil, officially known as the Liga BBVA MX Femenil for sponsorship reasons, is the highest division of women's football in Mexico. Supervised by the Mexican Football Federation, this professional league has 18 teams, each coinciding with a Liga MX team. Following the same schedule as the men's league, each season has two halves: an Apertura tournament, which takes place from July to December, and a Clausura tournament, which takes place from January to May. The league's first official domestic cup competition took place in May 2017 via the Copa MX Femenil, a now discontinued tournament that was created with the objective of preparing the teams for the inaugural season of the league which began in July 2017. 2017–18 Liga MX Femenil Season
The 2017–18 Liga MX Femenil season was the inaugural season of the top-flight women's football league in Mexico. The season is contested by sixteen teams, being the counterpart women's teams of the men's league, Liga MX. Of the 18 Liga MX clubs, Puebla and Lobos BUAP were the two teams who do not field a women's team. Format The Liga MX Femenil season is split into two championships: the Torneo Apertura (or opening tournament) and the Torneo Clausura (or closing tournament).
