Liga MX Femenil
The Liga MX Femenil, officially known as the Liga BBVA MX Femenil for sponsorship reasons, is the highest division of women's football in Mexico. Supervised by the Mexican Football Federation, this professional league has 18 teams, each coinciding with a Liga MX team. Following the same schedule as the men's league, each season has two halves: an Apertura tournament, which takes place from July to December, and a Clausura tournament, which takes place from January to May. The league's first official domestic cup competition took place in May 2017 via the Copa MX Femenil, a now discontinued tournament that was created with the objective of preparing the teams for the inaugural season of the league which began in July 2017. Club América (women)
Club América Femenil, commonly known as América Femenil or just América, is a Mexican professional women's football club based in Mexico City that competes in the Liga MX Femenil. The club has been the women's section of Club América since 2017. The team plays its home games at the Estadio Azteca, and at an alternative field named Cancha Centenario that is located at their training grounds. Club America Femenil is one of only four clubs that have been able to win the Liga MX Femenil title, obtaining the league title in one occasion. The Liga Mexicana de Fútbol Femenil is the top level women's football league in the Mexican football league system. The league was made as an attempt to help women's football grow in Mexico. This first nationwide league was established in 2007. Record champions are Morelia and Rio Soccer with four titles. Today the ''Liga'' features three divisions, the top one has always been called the Superliga. The Superliga failed to attract big sponsors, fans and media attention basically from the start. In 2017 the Liga MX Femenil was created, another and more promising try to establish a professional league. Mexico Women's National Football Team
The Mexico women's national football team represents Mexico on the international stage. The squad is governed by the Mexican Football Federation and competes within CONCACAF, the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football. 2017 Copa MX Femenil
The 2017 Copa MX Femenil was a women's association football tournament in Mexico. The tournament consists of 12 of the 16 Liga MX Femenil teams. The tournament was held between 3 May and 6 May at the Mexican Football Federation headquarters in Toluca, Mexico. The tournament was used by teams as a test to prepare for the Liga MX Femenil which launched in the second half of 2017. Pachuca won the final 9–1 against Club Tijuana.
