Tammy Gambill
Tammy Gambill is an American figure skating coach and former national-level skater. Several of her students have medaled at international competitions and three have competed at the Olympics. She has also won the 2005 USOC Developmental Coach Award. Early years Gambill grew up in Sacramento, California. She first went ice skating with her Blue Bird troop. Her older sister was a competitive swimmer, but since Gambill didn't have the talent, she convinced her parents to let her take figure skating lessons. When she was 13, she moved to Los Angeles, to work with a top coach. She lived with a host family and qualified to the U.S. Championships. Coaching career Gambill began coaching at age 19 in northern California before moving to Redlands, California in the 1990s. Figure Skating
Figure skating is a sport in which individuals, pairs, or groups perform on figure skates on ice. It was the first winter sport to be included in the Olympic Games, when contested at the 1908 Olympics in London. The Olympic disciplines are men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance; the four individual disciplines are also combined into a team event, first included in the Winter Olympics in 2014. The non-Olympic disciplines include synchronized skating, Theater on Ice, and four skating. From intermediate through senior-level competition, skaters generally perform two programs (the short program and the free skate), which, depending on the discipline, may include spins, jumps, moves in the field, lifts, throw jumps, death spirals, and other elements or moves. Vincent Zhou
Vincent Zhou (born October 25, 2000) is an American figure skater. He is a 2022 Olympic Games team event silver medalist, a two-time World bronze medalist (2019, 2022), the 2019 Four Continents bronze medalist, the 2021 CS Nebelhorn Trophy champion, the 2021 Skate America champion, the 2018 CS Tallinn Trophy silver medalist, the 2017 CS Finlandia Trophy silver medalist, and a three-time U.S. national silver medalist (2017, 2019, 2021). He is also the 2017 World Junior champion, a three-time Junior Grand Prix event silver medalist, and the 2013 U.S. junior national champion. Austin Kanallakan
Austin Kanallakan (born May 23, 1991) is an American former competitive figure skater. He won three gold medals on the ISU Junior Grand Prix series and silver at the 2006 JGP Final. In his first year on the JGP circuit, Kanallakan qualified for the Junior Grand Prix Final, where he placed second. He qualified twice more for the event but did not make the podium again. At the 2007 U.S. Championships, he overcame a poor result in the short program to win the free skate and claim the bronze medal on the junior level. The Lombardia Trophy, also known as Memorial Anna Grandolfi, is an annual international figure skating competition. It is held in September in Sesto San Giovanni, Italy. Richard Dornbush
Richard Dornbush (born August 27, 1991) is an American former figure skater. He is the 2014 Lombardia Trophy champion, 2010 ISU Junior Grand Prix Final champion, and 2011 U.S. national silver medalist. He competed at the 2011 World Championships and was an alternate for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Personal life Richard Dornbush was born in Corona, California. He has three older sisters. He played the violin for six years. After studying physics at Riverside Community College, he transferred to University of California, San Diego and joined Earl Warren College. Amanda J. Dobbs (born August 10, 1993) is an American former competitive figure skater. As a single skater, she placed fourth at the 2010 Four Continents Championships. She also competed in pair skating on the national senior level with Joseph Jacobsen . Personal life Dobbs was born in Clovis, California and lives in Mission Viejo, California. 2020 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships
The 2020 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships were held on February 4–9, 2020 in Seoul, South Korea. Held annually since 1999, the competition featured skaters from the Americas, Asia, Africa, and Oceania. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pairs, and ice dance. Qualification Age and minimum TES requirements The competition is open to skaters from all non-European member nations of the International Skating Union. The corresponding competition for European skaters is the 2020 European Figure Skating Championships.
