Tamilmaran a/l Manimaran (born 16 September 1997) is a Malaysian footballer who plays as a wing-back for Petaling Jaya City in the Malaysia Super League. Club career Early year Born in Selangor, Tamil played as a youth for Selangor at the age of 16. He progressed through the youth system and was part of the team that finished as a champions of the President Cup in 2017. Selangor Tamil quickly progressed through the youth ranks and the reserve team at Selangor and impressed enough to earn a first team debut at the age of 20. He made his first senior appearance against Penang in 28 October 2017 in a Super League match, playing full 90-minutes. On 27 November 2017, Selangor under-21 manager, Ariffin Ab Hamid confirmed that Tamil would be definitely promoted to Selangor's first team for 2018 season. The 2018 Selangor FA Season was Selangor FA's 13th season playing soccer in the Malaysia Super League since its inception in 2004. Selangor FA began the season on 4 February 2018. The Malaysia Cup ( ms, Piala Malaysia), formerly known as ''Malaya Cup'', is an annual association football, football tournament in Malaysia, held at the end of the calendar year. The cup was first held in 1921. Despite its prestige and popularity as the nation's oldest cup tournament, it is currently a secondary cup to the Malaysia FA Cup, as Malaysia's slot for continental cup tournament (AFC Cup) is usually allocated to the winner of the Malaysia FA Cup. The Malaysia FA Cup ( ms, Piala FA) is an annual national knock-out football tournament in Malaysia. The cup was first held in 1990. The competition was previously managed by Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), before being transferred to Football Malaysia LLP (MFL) (now known as Malaysian Football League) in the 2016 season. The cup is contested among the clubs from the Malaysia Super League, Malaysia Premier League, Malaysia M3 League and Malaysia M4 League. The preliminary and first rounds are played between the clubs that qualified from the M3 and M4 League. The winners advance to the second round and join the rest of the clubs.
