2018 Selangor FA Season
The 2018 Selangor FA Season was Selangor FA's 13th season playing soccer in the Malaysia Super League since its inception in 2004. Selangor FA began the season on 4 February 2018. They will also compete in two domestic cups, the Malaysia FA Cup and Malaysia Cup. Season Overview Pre-season (Squad build and first transfers) On 16 November, Selangor squad manager, Abd Rauf Ahmad confirmed that P. Maniam will retain as Selangor's coach for 2018 season. On 28 November, Ariffin Ab Hamid, manager of Selangor U21 squad confirmed that six players will be promoted to the first squad. Those players were Haziq Ridwan, Syukri Azman, Amirul Haziq, Tamil Maran, Azizul Baharuddin and D. Kugan. During the pre-season planning, P.Maniam also added a few new local players for the season, such as Sean Selvaraj (Negeri Sembilan), Azamuddin Akil (Johor Darul Ta'zim), Ashmawi Yakin (Negeri Sembilan), Joseph Kalang Tie (Pahang) and Shahrul Igwan (Negeri Sembilan). Selangor Football Club (Malay: ''Kelab Bola Sepak Selangor''), commonly referred to as Selangor F.C. is a Malaysian professional football club based in the city of Shah Alam, Selangor, that currently competes in the Malaysia Super League, the top tier of Malaysian football. The club is nicknamed the Red Giants. Officially founded in 1936 by the Football Association of Selangor (FAS), the association built its football development as a result of a merger with the Selangor Association Football League (SAFL - established in 1905) and forming the professional football team known as Selangor FA. Malaysia FA Cup
The Malaysia FA Cup ( ms, Piala FA) is an annual national knock-out football tournament in Malaysia. The cup was first held in 1990. The competition was previously managed by Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), before being transferred to Football Malaysia LLP (MFL) (now known as Malaysian Football League) in the 2016 season. The cup is contested among the clubs from the Malaysia Super League, Malaysia Premier League, Malaysia M3 League and Malaysia M4 League. The preliminary and first rounds are played between the clubs that qualified from the M3 and M4 League. The winners advance to the second round and join the rest of the clubs. The winners of the competition are awarded with a slot to compete in the AFC Cup. The current title holders are Johor Darul Ta'zim, which won their second title in the 2022 edition. Adam bin Nor Azlin (born 5 January 1996) is a Malaysian professional footballer who plays for Johor Darul Ta'zim and the Malaysia national team. Adam plays mainly as a forward and a winger while playing with his club but has instead given another role as a defender while playing for the Malaysia U-23. Shahrul Igwan bin Samsudin (born 17 May 1994) is a Malaysian footballer for Kelantan. He primarily plays as a defensive midfielder and as an attacking midfielder.
