Counting
Counting is the process of determining the number of elements of a finite set of objects, i.e., determining the size of a set. The traditional way of counting consists of continually increasing a (mental or spoken) counter by a unit for every element of the set, in some order, while marking (or displacing) those elements to avoid visiting the same element more than once, until no unmarked elements are left; if the counter was set to one after the first object, the value after visiting the final object gives the desired number of elements. The related term ''enumeration'' refers to uniquely identifying the elements of a finite (combinatorial) set or infinite set by assigning a number to each element. Talley Robert "Tally" Holmes (December 9, 1889 in Washington, D.C. − March 1, 1969 in Washington, D.C. (access: 15 July 2019).) was an American player in the 1910s and 1920s. ''Uglies'' is a book series by Scott Westerfeld for young adults. Westerfeld originally intended for ''Uglies'' to be a trilogy. However, after publishing the series' first three novels, ''Uglies'', ''Pretties'', and '' Specials'', he ultimately wrote an additional fourth book, '' Extras''. This fourth book is dedicated " everyone who wrote to me to reveal the secret definition of the word 'trilogy'." ''Celebrity Deathmatch'' is an adult stop-motion claymated series created by Eric Fogel and produced by John Worth Lynn Jr. for MTV. A parody of sports entertainment programs, ''Celebrity Deathmatch'' depicted various celebrities engaging in highly stylized professional wrestling matches. The series was known for its large amount of gory violence, including combatants employing different abilities and weapons to deliver particularly brutal attacks, resulting in exaggerated physical injuries. Two television pilots were broadcast on MTV on January 1 and 25, 1998. The series properly premiered on May 14, 1998, and ended on June 6, 2002, airing for 93 episodes. During its run, it was one of MTV's most popular cartoons alongside ''Beavis and Butt-Head'' and ''Daria''. The Tally Man is the name of two fictional characters in the DC Universe. Both characters are supervillains. Starving and living in rags, the boy who was to become the Tally Man lived with his mother and sister, in constant fear of the criminals who threatened the family for the money his father had borrowed from them years before. ''Tally'' is a painting by Ellen Gallagher. It is in the collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston in Boston, Massachusetts in the United States. This painting is part of an early series that Gallagher created examining minstrel shows. Sheets of penmanship paper are adhered to a canvas. Neutral colored oil paint and blue pencil emphasizes the lines on, and color of, the paper. Lightly drawn symbols decorate the pieces of paper, including drawings of red lips and eyeballs which represent early stereotypes of African American peoples. This painting was acquired by the Museum on December 14, 1994, from the Mario Diacono Gallery, which representing Gallagher. Funding for the purchase came from the Living New England Artist Purchase Fund. William (Bill) Tally is an American engineer and former CTO of Saleen, Inc. Tally was responsible for heading the development of the powertrain of the Saleen S7, the first modern American supercar. Career Tally began his automotive career as a mechanic working with the Kel Carruthers AMA Grand National 500cc World Championship factory Yamaha racing team in 1975. In the following years, he was involved in race engineering efforts in CART and a number of other racing series. Robert T. Tally Jr. is a professor of English at Texas State University.
