Athletics is a group of sporting events that involves competitive running, jumping, throwing sports, throwing, and walking. The most common types of athletics competitions are track and field, road running, cross country running, and racewalking. The results of racing events are decided by finishing position (or time, where measured), while the jumps and throws are won by the athlete that achieves the highest or furthest measurement from a series of attempts. The simplicity of the competitions, and the lack of a need for expensive equipment, makes athletics one of the most common types of sports in the world. Kai Kazmirek
Kai Kazmirek (born 28 January 1991) is a German track and field athlete who competes in the decathlon. He holds a personal best of 8580 points for the event achieved in Rio 2016, as well as an indoor heptathlon best of 6173 points. He is a member of LG Rhein-Wied athletics club. He represented Germany at the 2014 IAAF World Indoor Championships, placing sixth. A two-time German champion (decathlon in 2012, heptathlon in 2014), he was also the winner at the 2013 European Athletics U23 Championships. Career Born in Torgau, he initially specialised in the high jump and was the 2008 German youth champion in the event. Estonian Athletic Association
The Estonian Athletic Association (Estonian: ''Eesti Kergejõustikuliit'') is the governing body for the sport of athletics in Estonia. An Estonian athlete, Nikolai Vedehin, was accused of doping by The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). He was temporarily banned from competing in any events. Nikolai was found to have the forbidden substance Trimetazidine in his urine sample, which was taken in Kenya on February 5, 2015. Nikolai admitted to taking the drug but claimed he was not aware that it was prohibited during while he was not competing. This was a statement he gave in writing when he provided the original urine sample. The president of the Estonian Athletics Association, Erich Teigamagi stated that it was difficult to examine the matter substantively at the time as Nikolai was not in Estonia at the time. Sander Skotheim
Sander Aae Skotheim (born 31 May 2002) is a Norwegian multi-event athlete. He was a silver medalist at the 2023 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Istanbul. Career Skotheim won gold in Athletics at the 2019 European Youth Summer Olympic Festival in the decathlon in Baku, and silver at the 2021 European Athletics U20 Championships decathlon in Tallinn. In 2022, Skotheim won the senior indoor Norwegian championship in the heptathlon and individual indoor medals including the gold in the high jump, silver in the triple jump and bronze in the long jump. Skotheim also won gold in the senior outdoor Norwegian championships in 2022, triumphing in the 110 metres hurdles and the high jump. Hans-Christian Hausenberg
Hans-Christian Hausenberg (born 18 September 1998) is an Estonian decathlete and long jumper. On 1 March 2015, he set a world U18 record in heptathlon (indoor). Since 2017, he detains the European under-20 record in heptathlon. He won the long jump qualification with 7.98 m (w) at 2019 European Athletics U23 Championships, but finished fourth in final.
