Takming University of Science and Technology (TMUST ; ) is a private university in Neihu District, Taipei, Taiwan. History The university was originally established in 1965. It was previously known as Takming College. Neihu District
Neihu District is a district of Taipei City, Taiwan. Neihu means "inner lake." The older name originates from the Ketagalan word ''Tayour'' (transliterated by the Dutch as ''Cattajo''), meaning woman's head ornament. Many mountainous roads and paths, which are ideal for hiking, connect Neihu with the neighboring Shilin District and Yangmingshan National Park. The Tri-Service General Hospital, which is a teaching hospital of the National Defense Medical Center, is also in Neihu. The Wuchih Mountain Military Cemetery borders Neihu. Xihu Metro Station
The Taipei Metro Xihu station is located in the Neihu District in Taipei, Taiwan. It is a station on Wenhu line and opened on 4 July 2009. Station overview This three-level, elevated station features an island platform, two exits, and a platform elevator located on the east side of the concourse level. Unlike other stations on Brown Line, the concourse of this station is located above the platform level. On the eastern and northern walls of the station is a public art display. Titled "Crossing-Transformation", the aluminum and pottery brick piece can be perceived differently if viewed from different angles. Ellen Young (; born 1952) is an American Democratic Party politician who represented the 22nd assembly district in the New York State Assembly. She was elected in 2006 to represent Flushing, Queens. She is currently the Chairwoman & CEO for the United Nations Global Peace Development Foundation. She lost in the 2008 primary for reelection to Grace Meng. The election was hotly contested as Young was supported by John Liu (current New York State Senator) and Meng was supported by her father, previous Assemblyman Jimmy Meng. Young came to New York at the age of 25 from Taiwan after graduating from Takming College in Taipei. She became the first Asian woman elected to the state legislature.
