Takis Mavris
Christakis Omirou Mavris ( el, Χριστάκης Ομήρου Μαυρής; born 5 June 1956), sometimes referred to as Christos Omirou, Christos Mavris or simply Takis Mavris ( el, Τάκης Μαυρής), is a Cypriot former footballer who played as a midfielder and made 17 appearances for the Cyprus national team. Career Mavris made his debut for Cyprus on 27 October 1976 in a 1978 FIFA World Cup qualification match against Denmark, which finished as a 0–5 loss. He went on to make 17 appearances, scoring 1 goal, before making his last appearance on 23 December 1984 in a 1986 FIFA World Cup qualification match against the Netherlands, which finished as a 0–1 loss. Panagia, Nicosia
Pallouriotissa ( el, Παλλουριώτισσα []) is an area of Nicosia, Cyprus, formerly an independent village, which was annexed to the municipality in 1968. It was subsequently divided into the quarters of Panayia (''Panagia'') and Saints Constantine and Helen (''Agioi Konstantinos kai Eleni''). As of 2011, their combined population was 15,607. Pallouriotissa is immediately south of Kaimakli. Etymology The name refers to the plant ''Palliouros'' known today as Palloura in Cypriot Greek, i.e. the Jujube plant. Cypriot Super Cup
The Cypriot Super Cup is a Cypriot football trophy, contested in an annual match between the previous season's Cypriot First Division champions, and the Cypriot Cup winners. The match is contested at the beginning of the football season, and is usually played at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia. The most successful team in the competition are Omonia, who have won the trophy on 17 occasions. The current holders are Apollon Limassol, who defeated Omonia 2–0 in the 2022 match. History The first match was played in 1951, under the name Pakkos Shield (Greek: Ασπίδα Πάκκου). The trophy was not awarded to the winner of the match, but would instead be awarded to the overall most successful team in the competition, after 10 matches. It began on 14 November 1982 with the preliminary round and concluded on 28 May 1983 with the final which was held at Tsirion Stadium. Omonia won their 7th Cypriot Cup trophy after beating Enosis Neon Paralimni 2–1 in the final. Format In the 1982–83 Cypriot Cup, participated all the teams of the Cypriot First Division, the Cypriot Second Division and the Cypriot Third Division. The Cypriot Cup () is the main cup competition in Cypriot football, run by the Cyprus Football Association (CFA). It began in 1934, the same season with the Cypriot Championship. It is the second most important competition for Cypriot club teams after Cypriot Championship. Only the Cypriot First Division and the second division teams are participating in the competition.
