"Taking Over Me" is the second single released by British pop rock band Lawson, via Polydor Records. The single was released in the United Kingdom on 5 August 2012, as the second single from their debut studio album, ''Chapman Square'', and reached number three on the UK Singles Chart, becoming their highest charting single to date along with "Juliet". Music video A music video to accompany the release of "Taking Over Me" premiered on YouTube on 6 July 2012, at a total length of three minutes and ten seconds. Directed by Josh Forbes, the video features the four boys performing in a desert town, visiting places such as restaurants and clubs. Lawson (band)
Lawson are an English pop rock band, consisting of Andy Brown (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Ryan Fletcher (bass guitar, keyboards, backing vocals), Joel Peat (lead guitar, keyboards, co-lead vocals) and Adam Pitts (drums, backing vocals, percussion). The band's debut album, '' Chapman Square'', was released on 22 October 2012 and reached number three on the UK Albums Chart. On 17 April 2020, the band released "Lovers", their first single after their 4-year hiatus. To date, the band have achieved seven UK top 20 hit singles. They are named after Dorset-based surgeon David Lawson, who performed life-saving surgery on Andy Brown. Wideboys
The Wideboys are an English electronic music duo known for club remixes and for their own song "Sambuca", featuring Dennis G on vocals, which reached number 15 in the UK in October 2001. Another top 40 single, "Daddy-O" featuring Shaznay Lewis, reached No. 32 in 2008. The Wideboys compose and release many of their own productions, especially favouring the 12-inch vinyl format for club DJs. In 1998, they began producing dance remixes of songs by other artists, which led to fame in 2000 for two remixes featuring Craig David on vocals: " Re-Rewind" and " Woman Trouble", both by Artful Dodger.
