Takeshi Yagi
is a Japanese TV director/producer whose credits include Tsuburaya Productions' popular Ultra Series. Personal history Born in 1967, Yagi grew up during the boom of tokusatsu television shows in Japan. In the mid-1990s, he joined Tsuburaya Productions, the creators of the popular Ultra Series, working as an Assistant Director on TV series such as Ultraman Tiga. He made his directorial debut on the fourth episode of the TV mini-series Moon Spiral in 1996. He continued to serve as both a Director and Director of Special Effects for the majority of Tsuburaya Productions' Ultra Series until 2007. In 2004, Yagi was credited as the Main Director for Ultra Q: Dark Fantasy. The following year, he was promoted to Series Producer for 2005's Ultraman Max, where he made the popular decision to bring in acclaimed directors Shusuke Kaneko and Takashi Miike to direct episodes for the series. Ultraman Mebius
is a Japanese television series produced by Tsuburaya Productions and Chubu-Nippon Broadcasting. It is the 20th TV series and 40th anniversary production in the Ultra Series, which first began in 1966. It premiered on the Tokyo Broadcasting System on April 8, 2006. Unlike the two prior entries, '' Ultraman Nexus'' (2004) and ''Ultraman Max'' (2005), ''Mebius'' was moved from Saturday mornings to Saturday evenings at 05:30 and the show went on to air in Korea in April 2012. Ultraman Nexus
was produced by Tsuburaya Productions, Chubu-Nippon Broadcasting (CBC), and Dentsu. It was the 18th entry in the Ultra Series. The series aired on Tokyo Broadcasting System, including TBS, CBC, MBS, etc. The show ran from October 2, 2004 until June 25, 2005, with a total of 37 broadcast episodes. Subsequent DVD releases from Bandai Visual saw a brand new 45-minute Episode EX and an extended 45-minute Director's Cut of Episode 29. On April 24, 2017, Toku announced that the series would be broadcast in the United States on its channel beginning May 9, 2017 until June 2, 2017. Ultraman Cosmos
is a Japanese tokusatsu TV show being the 16th show in the Ultra Series. Produced by Tsuburaya Productions, ''Ultraman Cosmos'' aired from July 6, 2001 to September 27, 2002, with a total of 65 episodes, which currently makes it the longest running Ultra show to date. It was also released to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the ''Ultraman'' series. In June 2002, ''Cosmos'' was taken off of television for several weeks (following the broadcast of the 49th episode) when lead actor Taiyou Sugiura was questioned in an assault and extortion case. When the case against Sugiura was dropped for lack of evidence, ''Cosmos'' was put back on the air. TBS and Tsuburaya ultimately pulled five episodes (50, 52, 54, 56, and 58) from broadcast to make up for time lost, and these episodes were later released on DVD.
