"Take Me Home" is a song recorded by American singer and actress Cher for her fifteenth studio album of the same name released in 1979. A disco song, it was conceived after Cher was recommended to venture into said genre, after the commercial failure of her previous albums. The lyrics center around the request of a woman to be taken home by her lover. It was released as the lead single from the ''Take Me Home'' album in January 1979 through Casablanca Records, pressed as a 12-inch single. Music critics gave positive reviews of "Take Me Home", highlighting its sound and melody. Neil E. Bogart (born Neil Scott Bogatz, February 3, 1943 – May 8, 1982) was an American record executive. He was the founder of Casablanca Records, which later became Casablanca Record and Filmworks. Life and career Born Neil Scott Bogatz in the Brooklyn Jewish Hospital, central Brooklyn, New York City, the son of Ruth (Markoff) and Al M. Bogatz. His family was Jewish. He grew up in the Glenwood Houses, a housing project in the Flatlands section of Brooklyn. "Dark Lady" is a folk song recorded by American singer-actress Cher, and the title selection from her eleventh studio album, '' Dark Lady''. Written and composed by John Robert "Johnny" Durrill and produced by Snuff Garrett, it was released as the album's first single in early 1974.
