Taizhou Rail Transit
Taizhou Rail Transit (), is a rapid transit, metro system in Taizhou, Zhejiang, Taizhou, Zhejiang province, China. The system is operated by Taizhou Rail Transit Construction and Development Co., Ltd. In the near term (Phase I), two lines, S1 and S2, are planned; in the long term, lines S3 and S4 are planned. The first phase of the plan was approved by the National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China in December 2014, and approved by the Zhejiang Provincial Development and Reform Commission in September 2016. Construction of Line S1 started in November 2016 and lasted until opening in December 2022. Tāizhōu (pronunciation in PRC Standard Mandarin: , Taizhou dialect: Thecieu), alternately known as Taichow, is a city located at the middle of the East China Sea coast of Zhejiang province. It is located south of Shanghai and southeast of Hangzhou, the provincial capital. It is bordered by Ningbo to the north, Wenzhou to the south, and Shaoxing, Jinhua, and Lishui to west. Wenling
Wenling ( Wenling dialect: Ueng-ling Zy ; ) is a coastal county-level city in the municipal region of Taizhou, in southeastern Zhejiang province, China. It borders Luqiao and Huangyan to the north, Yuhuan to the south, Yueqing to the west, looks out to the East China Sea to the east. Wenling locates on 28°22'N, 121°21'E, approximately south of Shanghai. Jiangxia Tidal Power Station is located there as well as a number of e-waste recycling centers which have contributed to soil contamination in the region. Taizhou Luqiao Airport , formerly Huangyan Luqiao Airport, is a dual-use military and civil airport serving the city of Taizhou in Zhejiang Province, China. It is located in Luqiao District, 20 kilometers from the city center. In 2010 the airport handled 616,861 passengers and 5,483 tons of cargo. History Luqiao Airport was originally a military airfield belonging to the People's Liberation Army Navy. Construction of the airfield began in January 1954, and it was opened in July 1955. Jiaojiang District ( Tai-chow dialect: Tsiao-kông K'ü; ) is a district and the seat of the prefecture-level city of Taizhou in Zhejiang Province, China. It is named after the Jiao River (Jiaojiang in Chinese). The district has its mainland area of , and its islands area is . The total area is . As of 2003, the population was approximately 471,500.
