Taiwan Historica
The Taiwan Historica (TH; ) is an institution located in Zhongxing New Village, Nantou City, Nantou County, Taiwan established to compile the common history of Taiwan Province. History Taiwan Historica was originally established on 1 June 1948 as Taiwan Provincial Common History Historica. It was then changed to Historical Research Committee of Taiwan Province in July 1949. The committee was affiliated to the Civil Affairs Department in 1958, to the Cultural Affairs Department in July 1997, to Taiwan Provincial Government in July 1999 and to Academia Historica on 1 January 2002 and changed its name to Taiwan Historica on the same date. Zhongxing New Village
Zhongxing New Village, sometimes rendered as Chunghsing New Village is an urban village located in Nantou City, Nantou County, Taiwan (ROC) and was until 2018, when the Taiwan Provincial Government was abolished, was the seat of government of Taiwan Province. The term ''zhōngxīng'' is from a Chinese legend (), referring to the restoration of the Xia Dynasty by king Shao Kang, an allusion to the ROC government taking back mainland China. It is a planned town with a population of 25,549 as of February 2010. With all the buildings owned by the government, development is strictly controlled and carefully planned. Nantou City
Nantou City (Mandarin Pīnyīn: ''Nántóu Shì''; Hokkien POJ: ''Lâm-tâu-chhī'') is a county-administered city located in the northwest of Nantou County, Taiwan. It lies between the Bagua Mountains and the Maoluo River and is the county seat of Nantou County. Freeway No. 3 serves Nantou City. Its name is a transliteration of the Hoanya word ''Ramtau'' with its first character (; "south") chosen to complement that of Beitou's (; "north"), a district in Taipei, even though there is no relation between the aboriginal names. History Qing Dynasty The Han Chinese began arriving in the area during the reign of the Qianlong Emperor of Qing Dynasty. Nantou County
Nantou County (; Hokkien POJ: ''Lâm-tâu-koān''; Hakka PFS: ''Nàm-thèu-yen'') is the second largest county of Taiwan by area, located in the central part of the country. It is also the only non-coastal county in Taiwan. Its name derives from the Hoanya Taiwanese aboriginal word ''Ramtau''. Taiwan Provincial Government
The Taiwan Provincial Government was the government that governed Taiwan Province of the Republic of China. Its functions have been transferred to the National Development Council and other ministries of the Executive Yuan. History At the end of World War II, Japan surrendered on August 15, 1945. The Nationalist government started the process to takeover Taiwan on behalf of the Allies. The Taiwan Provincial Administrative Office was established by the Executive Yuan in Chungking on September 1, 1945. The office moved to Taipei on October 25, 1945. An academy (Attic Greek: Ἀκαδήμεια; Koine Greek Ἀκαδημία) is an institution of secondary or tertiary higher learning (and generally also research or honorary membership). The name traces back to Plato's school of philosophy, founded approximately 385 BC at Akademia, a sanctuary of Athena, the goddess of wisdom and skill, north of Athens, Greece.
