The Taichung Time Square CBD () is a skyscraper office building located on 213 Chaofu Road, Xitun District, Taichung, Taiwan. Construction of the building started in 2013 and it was completed in 2015. The height of the building is , with a floor area of , and it comprises 34 floors above ground, as well as seven basement levels. The building is 22nd tallest building in Taichung. The building is similar in appearance to Sompo Japan Building. Location The building is located in Taichung's 7th Redevelopment Zone, which is central business district of Taichung and houses many tourist attractions, such as Huilai Monument Archaeology Park and National Taichung Theater. Xitun District
Xitun District or Situn District (, literally "western village") is the second-most populated district of Taichung, Taiwan. It is located on the western side of the city. Once considered part of the countryside, the district has seen rapid growth in recent years with department store and office towers in the redevelopment zone. Taichung City Hall is located in the district. History The original inhabitants of the area were the Pazeh people, who inhabited the Taichung Basin. The first Han settlers arrived in 1701, led by Liao Chao Kong () and Chang Da Jing (). As a result, the Pazeh people were pushed out of the area, and most of them migrated to Puli, Nantou. The is the corporate headquarters for Sompo Japan Insurance. It is located in the district Nishi-Shinjuku in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. At 200 metres (656 ft), the building is the 28th tallest building in Tokyo and the 33rd tallest in Japan. It was designed by Yoshikazu Uchida. Taichung’s 7th Redevelopment Zone () is located in Xitun District and Nantun District, known to many local residents by its abbreviated Mandarin name "Qiqi" (七期). Huilai Monument Archaeology Park
Huilai Monument Archaeology Park () is an archaeological site at Xitun District, Taichung, Taiwan. History The site was discovered by Tunghai University student Chen Sheng-ming in 2002. Further investigation revealed the site coverage to be 1,500,000 m2 and the Taichung City Government declared the area to be a City Archaeological Area. A setback, in the specific sense of a step-back, is a step-like form of a wall or other building frontage, also termed a recession or recessed storey. Importantly, one or more step-backs lowers the building's center of mass, making it more stable.
