Taekwondo at the 2005 SEA Games were held in the Cuneta Astrodome in Roxas Boulevard, Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines. The participants competed for one of sixteen gold medals, eight each for men and women. Cuneta Astrodome
The Cuneta Astrodome is an indoor arena that is located in Pasay, Philippines. Since the 1993 PBA season, it was better known as the home of the Philippine Basketball Association. when it left the PhilSports Arena (that was then known as ULTRA), up until the 1998 PBA season, 1998 and since 2001 PBA season, 2001. It hosts the local basketball league sports competition. It has also hosted a slew of other political, evangelical gatherings and church anniversaries. It is also the permanent home of the Philippine Super Liga since 2014. Despite its name, the Cuneta Astrodome is not a dome-shaped indoor arena, since its exterior is rectangular in shape. History The Cuneta Astrodome was built to complement the adjacent Pasay City Sports Complex which is in a dilapidated state prior the Cuneta Astrodome's construction. The arena is named after Enrique Cuneta, a prominent Pasay city official in 1816 who is also the ancestor of Pablo Cuneta, who was mayor of Pasay in the 1990s.

Donald Geisler
Donald David "Donnie" von Geisler III (born October 6, 1978) is a retired Filipino taekwondo athlete of German-American descent, who represented the Philippines in the Summer Olympic Games in the years 2000 and 2004. He is a 1998 Asian Games and World Cup Taekwondo Silver medalist, and won a gold medal for the men's lightweight division at the 2005 Southeast Asian Games held in Pasay, Philippines before his retirement. Geisler is an AB Communication Arts graduate from the University of Santo Tomas. Taekwondo In The Philippines
Taekwondo was introduced to the Philippines through the efforts of Kim Bok Man and Young Man Park. Grand Master Kim Bok Man arrived in 1970 to continue Park's legacy of propagating Taekwondo upon the invitation of President Marcos. Kim continued to pioneer Taekwondo worldwide and left the Philippines in 1971. In 1975, Grand Master Hong Sung-chon came to the Philippines to promote Taekwondo, eventually establishing the Philippine Taekwondo Association (PTA). The current central headquarters of the PTA is at the Rizal Memorial Sports Complex. The PTA is a member of the Kukkiwon, World Taekwondo Federation, Philippine Sports Commission, Philippine Olympic Committee and Asian Taekwondo Union. Che Chew Chan (born 1 October 1982 in Pontian, Johor) is a Malaysian taekwondo practitioner. She is a three-time defending champion for the middleweight category and won a total of four gold medals at the Southeast Asian Games, a silver medalist at the 2007 Summer Universiade in Bangkok, Thailand, and a silver medalist at the 2008 Asian Taekwondo Championships in Luoyang, China. Kirstie Elaine Alora (born November 25, 1989) is a Filipina taekwondo practitioner. She represented the Philippines at the 2016 Summer Olympics after winning the silver medal at the Asian Olympic Qualifying Tournament. Juana Wangsa Putri (born 13 February 1977) is an Indonesian taekwondo practitioner, who competed in the women's flyweight category.
