Tabriz ( fa, تبریز ; ) is a city in northwestern Iran, serving as the capital of East Azerbaijan Province. It is the List of largest cities of Iran, sixth-most-populous city in Iran. In the Quri Chay, Quru River valley in Iran's historic Azerbaijan (Iran), Azerbaijan region between long ridges of volcanic cones in the Sahand and Eynali mountains, Tabriz's elevation ranges between above sea level. The valley opens up into a plain that gently slopes down to the eastern shores of Lake Urmia, to the west. With cold winters and temperate summers, Tabriz is considered a summer resort. Freeway 2 (Iran)
Freeway 2 in Iran consists of two separate sections, one in northwestern Iran and one in northeastern Iran. Western Section The western section of Freeway 2 runs from the capital city Tehran to Tabriz in northwestern Iran. This freeway is an important transit road that connects Iran's industrial zones to Tabriz and Turkey. The section between Tehran and Karaj is one of the busiest sections in Iran with AADT of 217084. Karaj-Qazvin has an AADT of 79606.
