Scotstoun Stadium
Scotstoun Stadium is an athletics and rugby union stadium in Scotstoun, an area in the West End of Glasgow, Scotland. Glasgow Warriors have trained at the facility since 2009 and have played their home games here from the 2012–13 season onwards. It has a capacity of 9,708 for rugby union. Between 2012 and 2015, the Stadium hosted the Scotland Sevens – the Scottish leg of the IRB Sevens World Series, but then the leg was moved to a new host country, France in 2016. History The facility first opened in 1915 as Scotstoun Showgrounds after the land was developed by the Glasgow Agricultural Society as a venue for agricultural shows. It was soon being used as a venue for sporting events and as a result the Grandstand was erected. The facility underwent a huge renovation in 2008 and on completion was re-opened on 14 January 2010 by the Princess Royal. Miao Miao
Miao Miao () (born 14 January 1981, Tianjin, China) is an Australian table tennis player who represented Australia at the Sydney, Athens, Beijing and London Olympic Games. Her best Olympic result was the quarter finals of the doubles tournament in Sydney. At the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, she won a silver medal in the teams competition and a bronze medal in the doubles with Jian Fang Lay. Her parents immigrated to Poland when she was a child, and later to Australia. She is the highest ranked Australian table tennis player at the time of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Virtually unknown in Australia she is well known in China. Miao Miao is a right-handed, fast attack shakehand player (height: ). Quadri Aruna
Quadri Akinade Aruna (born 9 August 1988, in Oyo, Nigeria) is a professional Nigeria table tennis player. He competed for Nigeria at the 2012 Summer Olympics and 2016 Summer Olympics, reaching the quarter-finals in the latter competition. He is the first African player to be ranked in the top 10 in World Table Tennis. At the World Cup 2014, he reached the quarter-finals in the Men's Singles competition. In the 2017 ITTF World Challenge Bulgaria Open, he advanced to the semi-finals, where he was defeated in a tight match by the eventual winner Dimitrij Ovtcharov. Sam Walker (table Tennis)
Samuel Jake Walker (born 7 May 1995) is a British table tennis player. He competed for England in the men's team event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games where he won a silver medal. In March 2016, Walker was part of the England team, alongside Liam Pitchford and Paul Drinkhall, which won bronze medals at the World Team Championships in Malaysia, England's first medal at that level since 1983 and the first time a newly promoted team had earned a podium place at the event. In June 2016, Walker was called up to the Team GB table tennis squad for the Rio Olympic Games. He featured in the team competition, sealing a 3–2 victory over France in the first round before GB were knocked out by China in the quarter-finals. Andrew Baggaley (born 26 February 1983) is a professional table tennis player from Milton Keynes. He is England's leading table tennis medal winner of all time in the Commonwealth Games, winning two gold medals in Manchester, England (2002), 1 silver medal in Melbourne, Australia (2006), 1 silver and 1 bronze medal in Delhi, India (2010) and 1 silver in Glasgow, Great Britain. Kelly Sibley (born 21 May 1988) is a former professional table tennis player and current coach from England. Sibley won the singles, girls doubles and mixed doubles at the UK Junior Championships and has represented England at senior level at the Commonwealth Games, European Championships and World Championships. She has won multiple national titles, as well as two Commonwealth silver medals, and appeared at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Joanna Drinkhall (née Parker, born 10 June 1987) is a British table tennis player. Career She grew up in Chertsey. She trained at the national academy in Nottingham, from 1999 to 2003. Then she played for a Berlin club. She is currently playing in France for TT Saint Quentin. Joanna has won national singles titles at U12, Cadet, Junior, U21 and Senior levels, girls’ doubles titles at U12, Cadet and Junior and both women's and mixed doubles at Senior level. Paul Drinkhall
Paul Andrew Drinkhall (born 16 January 1990) is a British table tennis player. He won the English Championship in 2007, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2016 and 2017. Career Drinkhall was born in Middlesbrough. His career in table tennis started in 1997 when he went along to watch his grandfather Ray play in a local league near his home. He enjoyed much success as a youngster, winning numerous national championships at his age level, and at levels above his own age.
