TV4 AB (formerly Nordisk Television AB; previously traded as ) is a Swedish media company owned by Telia Company through TV4 Media (formerly known as Bonnier Broadcasting). The company owns the largest commercial television channel in Sweden, TV4. From 2007 until 2019, TV4 AB was owned by Bonnier, with Bonnier Broadcasting AB being its parent since 2016. The stock used to be traded at the Stockholm Stock Exchange (OM), but was removed from the OM when Bonnier took full control of the company. On 20 July 2018, Telia Company announced the acquisition proposal of the Bonnier Broadcasting, which includes this company, for 9.2 billion SEK (roughly US$1 billion). The acquisition was completed on December 2, 2019. TV4 (''TV fyra'') is a Swedish free-to-air television network owned by TV4 AB, a subsidiary of the TV4 Media AB. It started broadcasting by satellite in 1990 and, since 1992, on terrestrial television. In 1994, TV4 became the largest channel and remained so for a number of years. The two channels of Sveriges Television (SVT) lost more and more viewers for a couple of years. After making schedule changes in 2001, SVT1 had practically the same numbers of viewers as TV4. Sjuan
Sjuan ( en, The Seven; formerly TV4 Plus) is a sister channel of Swedish TV4, owned by TV4 AB. The main focus of the channel is on entertainment, sports and lifestyle programmes. The channel started as ''TV4 Plus'' in 2003 but changed name to Sjuan in September 2011. The channel was launched in 2003 on digital terrestrial, digital satellite and cable networks. The channel could be received by many households from its launch and became the seventh most watched television channel in 2005. Sjuan has been showing ''Late Night with Conan O'Brien'' since its launch. In 2004, Sjuan took over '' Dr. Phil'' from its parent channel. TV4 Film is a Swedish film channel owned by TV4 Group. TV4 applied for a licence to broadcast a film channel terrestrially in the autumn of 2003 and was granted a licence in December. The channel was launched as TV4 Film in April 2004. The first film shown was ''Top Gun''. Just one year after the launch, the channel's penetration had reached 26 percent, making TV4 Film the most popular film channel in Sweden. By August–October 2006, it increased to 39 percent. Films are delivered from several distributors, including MGM, Paramount, Warner Brothers, Nordisk Film, SF and Sonet Film. The channel focuses on "modern classics", meaning that the films shown on the channel are mostly from the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. TV4 Fakta
TV4 Fakta is a Swedish documentary television channel owned by the TV4 Group. It started broadcasting in 2005. Much of the programming is taken from A+E Networks. Since December 2005, the remainder of the schedule is filled with the English language Euronews. The TV4 Group bought a stake in Euronews in June 2006. TV4 Fakta was the first channel owned by the TV4 Group that was not broadcast from Sweden. It is broadcast from Finland, where the advertising laws are more liberal. In November 2006, a Finnish version of the channel, called MTV3 Fakta, was launched in cooperation with MTV3. The channel have been broadcasting from Sweden since 2009. TV4 Guld is a Swedish television channel devoted to "classic" programmes such as older television dramas. The channel launched on November 3, simultaneously with its sister channel TV4 Komedi, on satellite from Canal Digital and cable from Com Hem. The channels were not available on the Viasat satellite platform or Boxer terrestrial package from the start. TV4 Hits (branded as Hits in Norway) is a Scandinavian premium television channel showing movies and TV shows. The channel shows big blockbusters, independent movies, classic movies, movies from the whole world and erotic movies. The channel was launched as ''Canal+ Film 2'' on 1 May 2004. On 1 November 2007 it changed its name to ''Canal+ Hits'' as part of a larger reorganization of the Canal+ channels. In the Swedish feed, it timeshares with Canal+ Sport 2 which broadcasts a few games in the weekend. In the Norwegian and Finnish network the channel is however broadcast in full. The channel changed name to C More Hits on 4 September 2012 as of big rebranding. C More was discontinued on 14 August 2023, in favor of TV4 Play in Sweden. SF-kanalen is a Swedish television channel, which shows movies from the library of Svensk Filmindustri. It is broadcast to Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland as a part of the Canal+ package. The channel launched on 1 October 2009 and would broadcast 24 hours per day from the start.
