TRP.P
TRP.P (pronounced "trippy") are a Canadian R&B and hip hop duo from Toronto, Ontario. The duo consists of producer Truss and singer-songwriter pHoenix Pagliacci. The duo released their debut EP, titled ''TRP.P'', in 2017 and their debut album, titled ''2TRP.P'', in 2019. Their debut album received positive reviews from music critics, such as ''Exclaim!'', and ''NOW Magazine'' named the album the 10th best Toronto album of 2019. History Formed in the summer of 2017, TRP.P's debut self-titled EP was released in 2017. At the time, Pagliacci was also a member of Canadian hip hop group, The Sorority. In 2018, Truss produced a track ("On Me") for The Sorority's debut album, ''Pledge''. In early 2019, Pagliacci left The Sorority to focus on TRP.P. The Sorority (rap Group)
The Sorority was a Canadian hip hop group founded in Toronto, Ontario in 2016. The group originally comprised Keysha Freshh, Lex Leosis, Haviah Mighty, and pHoenix Pagliacci. They released their debut album, ''Pledge'', in 2018. Pagliacci left the group in early 2019 to focus on her own R&B project, TRP.P, while the remaining members continued touring. LGBT representations in hip hop music have existed since the birth of the genre despite blatant discrimination. Hip hop has long been portrayed as one of the least LGBT-friendly genres of music, with a significant body of the genre containing homophobic views and anti-gay lyrics, with mainstream artists such as Eminem and Tyler, the Creator having used homophobia in their lyrics. Attitudes towards homosexuality in hip hop culture have historically been negative. Transgender
A transgender (often abbreviated as trans) person is someone whose gender identity or gender expression does not correspond with their sex assigned at birth. Many transgender people experience dysphoria, which they seek to alleviate through transitioning, often adopting a different name and set of pronouns in the process. Additionally, they may undergo sex reassignment therapies such as hormone therapy and sex reassignment surgery to more closely align their primary and secondary sex characteristics with their gender identity.
