TER Bourgogne-Franche-Comté is the regional rail network serving the region of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, eastern France. It is operated by the French national railway company SNCF. It was formed in 2017 from the previous TER networks TER Bourgogne and TER Franche-Comté, after the respective regions were merged. Geography The town is in the heart of the Revermont region, at the foot of the first plateau of the Jura massif. The Jura escarpment extends to the east and south, while to the west lies the plain of Bresse and to the north extensive vineyards. The river Vallière (river), Vallière runs through the town, rising in a typical Jura blind valley not far away, at Revigny. It has been conduited since the 1960s on grounds of hygiene, since sewage outlets run into it. A small section remains in the open air near the parc des Bains, and only a single bridge (the pont de la Guiche) remains. Saint-Jean-de-Losne (, literally ''Saint John of Losne'') is a Communes of France, commune in the Côte-d'Or Departments of France, department in eastern France. It is about southeast of Dijon. History Despite its size, the town's position on the Saône, Saône River meant it featured in a number of battles. In October 1636, during the Thirty Years War, the fortress was besieged by an Holy Roman Empire, Imperial army; the garrison commander, Philippe de La Mothe-Houdancourt, Mothe-Houdancourt, held out long enough to be relieved. During the closing stages of the Campaign in north-east France (1814), Napoleonic Wars in January 1814, the local inhabitants repelled several attempts by the Austrians to seize the bridge. La Chaux-de-Fonds railway station (french: Gare de La Chaux-de-Fonds) serves the municipality of La Chaux-de-Fonds, in the canton of Neuchâtel, Switzerland. Opened in 1857, the station is owned and operated by SBB-CFF-FFS.
