TAMEK is a Republic of Turkey, Turkish food and beverage company founded in 1955. It is a pioneer in the Turkish food sector. They are the first producers of tomato paste and ketchup in all Turkey. But they are also the first Turkish producer of many other canned food. History Tamek was founded in Demirtaş, Osmangazi, Demirtaş village of Osmangazi district of Bursa Province on March 31, 1955. The name consists of the initials of the Turkish German Fruit Extracts Company. It was founded by Mehmet Sipahioglu in cooperation with a German partner, who left after a year, making TAMEK 100% Turkish from then on. Tamek is the first producer of ketchup in Turkey, making the product available to consumers in 1958. In 1959, Tamek was the first producer of convenience food, ready to eat food and stuffed vegetables in Turkey. Soma Mine Disaster
On 13 May 2014, blasting at Eynez coal mine in Soma, Manisa, Turkey, caused an underground mine fire, which burned until 15 May. In total, 301 people were killed in what was the worst mine disaster in Turkey's history. The mine, operated by coal producer Soma Kömür İşletmeleri A.Ş., suffered a fire, the causes of which were later found to be complex. The fire occurred at the mine's shift change, and 787 workers were underground at the time. At the time the disaster was thought to be mainly an explosion rather than fire. After the final bodies were pulled from the mine on 17 May 2014, four days after the fire, the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Taner Yıldız confirmed the number of dead was 301. Soma is a town and district of Manisa Province in the Aegean region of Turkey. According to the 2009 census, the population of the district is 101,011, of which 74,158 live in the town of Soma. Fruko y sus Tesos is a salsa group from Colombia that is popular in both Latin America and the United States. It was formed in 1969 by multi-instrumentalist Julio Ernesto Estrada (aka Fruko). Salihli is a large town and district of Manisa Province in the Aegean region of Turkey. Geography The city of Salihli, the seat of the district, is located on İzmir-Ankara (E 96) highway and the parallel railway connections. The urban zone is situated on the slopes of Bozdağ mountain chain along the southern alluvial plains of the Gediz River.
