T. R. Raghunath
Thimatchipuram Rajagopal Raghunath (16 July 1912 – 2 January 1990) was an Indian film director. He was the younger brother of film director Raja Chandrasekhar. Career Raghunath started his film career as an assistant director in ''Gnanasoundari (1935 film), Gnanasoundari'' (1935). He then worked as a sound recordist in ''Dhara Sasangam'' (1936) for Sreenivasa Cinetone before making his directorial debut the same year with ''Kizhattu Mappillai''. He directed more than 30 films in Tamil. M. G. Ramachandran featured in minor roles in a couple of his films during 1940s. Subsequently, he directed M. G. Ramachandranin ''Raja Desingu'' movie, released in 1960, after much delay in production. Raghunath later went on to become a technical adviser at Karpagam Studios, after which he was appointed the President of the Madras branch of the Films Division of India (FDI). Vanasundari
''Vanasundari'' is a 1951 Indian Tamil-language film directed by T. R. Raghunath, starring P. U. Chinnappa, T. R. Rajakumari, T. S. Balaiah and S. Varalakshmi. Plot Prince Gunasagaran hates his father Marthandan, king of Neelapuri as he, in spite of his age, spends his time in entertainment without concern for people. Marthandan chases Gunasagaran out of the country. Gunasagaran and his friend Adhi Medhavi goes to another country. There, a cruel younger brother of the king, Kapaleekaran rules after killing his elder brother. His paramour Leela is virtually ruling the State. Vanasundari, the king's daughter is in custody. Modern Theaters Ltd was an Indian film studio in Salem, Tamil Nadu started by T. R. Sundaram Mudaliar in 1935. The studio produced over more than 150 films until 1982 in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi, Sinhalese and even English of which Tamil were the majority. History In the early 1930s, T. R. Sundaram entered the world of Tamil cinema as a partner of a Salem-based film company, Angel Films.
