Sivaji Ganesan
Villupuram Chinnaiya Manrayar Ganesamoorthy, better known by his stage name Sivaji Ganesan, (1 October 1928 – 21 July 2001) was an Indian actor and producer. He was active in Tamil cinema during the latter half of the 20th century. Sivaji Ganesan is acknowledged as one of the greatest Indian actors of all time and among the most imitated one by other actors. He was known for his versatility and the variety of roles he depicted on screen, which gave him also the Tamil nickname ''Nadigar Thilagam'' (). In a career that spanned close to five decades, he had acted 288 films in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi. Sivaji Ganesan is the only Tamil actor to have played the lead role in over 250 films. Ganesan was the first Indian actor to win a "Best Actor" award in an International film festival, the Afro-Asian Film Festival held in Cairo, Egypt in 1960. Lalitha (actress)
Lalitha (16 December 1930 – 1982) was an Indian actress and dancer. She was the eldest of the " Travancore Sisters"—Lalitha, Padmini, and Ragini. She started her acting career in the 1948 Tamil film '' Adhithan Kanavu'' and has acted in movies of different Indian languages including Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. She entered films before her sisters, concentrating more on Malayalam films, and was mostly cast in vamp roles. Personal life She was born to Thangappan Pillai and Saraswathi Amma on 16 December 1930 at Thiruvananthapuram. She is the aunt of actress Shobana. Malayalam actress Ambika Sukumaran is her relative. T. V. Radhakrishnan, better known as Kaka Radhakrishnan ( – 14 June 2012) was an Indian actor who acted in Tamil language films from the year 1940. ''Kalki'' is a Tamil language, Tamil-language Weekly (news magazine), weekly magazine published from Chennai, India. The magazine was established by Kalki Krishnamurthy, a popular Tamil language, Tamil novelist and Indian freedom fighter, in 1941. Kalki Sadasivam, T Sadasivam was the magazine's co-founder. The magazine is known for its publication of historic novels such as ''Ponniyin Selvan'' and ''Sivagamiyin Sabadham''. Singer Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, guru of M S Subbulakshmi, and music critic S V Seshadri were also involved with the magazine in its coverage of music. ''The Indian Express'' is an English-language Indian daily newspaper founded in 1932. It is published in Mumbai by the Indian Express Group. In 1999, eight years after the group's founder Ramnath Goenka's death in 1991, the group was split between the family members. The southern editions took the name ''The New Indian Express'', while the northern editions, based in Mumbai, retained the original ''Indian Express'' name with ''"The"'' prefixed to the title. Lakshman Sruthi - The Musical Consortium was founded by V. Raman & V. Lakshmanan in the year 2003. Lakshman Sruthi Orchestra The Lakshman Sruthi Orchestra is a Manual Orchestra founded by V. Lakshmanan in the name of Sruthi Innisai mazhai in 1987 with 10 students; since then, it has performed over 7,800 times in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, and across the world. This orchestra maintains completely manual orchestration: it does not use synthesizers or any other electronic equipment. It was the first orchestra to carry out a 36-hour non-stop light music performance on 17–18 December 1994 at Kamarajar Arangam in Chennai, India. In doing so, it set a world record.
