''Cuckoo'' is the second studio album by English alternative rock band Curve. It was released on 13 September 1993 and was issued by Anxious Records and Charisma Records. A musically more varied but significantly darker release than Curve's 1992 debut album '' Doppelgänger'', ''Cuckoo'' was less commercially successful than the band's previous releases. Release ''Cuckoo'' was released in the United Kingdom on 13 September 1993 by Anxious Records, and in the United States on 21 September 1993 by Anxious and Charisma Records. Two singles were issued from the album: " Blackerthreetracker" (which featured the ''Cuckoo'' song " Missing Link" as its lead track) on 23 August 1993, and " Superblaster" on 8 November 1993. In the UK, ''Cuckoo'' underperformed commercially compared to previous Curve releases, peaking at number 23 on the UK Albums Chart. Curve (band)
Curve were an English alternative rock and electronic music duo from London, formed in 1990 and split in 2005. The band consisted of Toni Halliday (vocals, occasionally guitar) and Dean Garcia (bass, guitar, drums, programming). Halliday wrote the lyrics of their songs and they both contributed to songwriting. Producer Alan Moulder was a prominent collaborator who helped shape their blend of heavy beats and densely–layered guitar tracks set against Halliday's vocals. Anxious Records
Anxious Records (sometimes typeset as AnXious) was a record label set up by David A. Stewart of Eurythmics, and overseen by Stewart with Infectious Music's Korda Marshall (when Marshall was at BMG/RCA Records). Originally set up as a BMG label, the company went independent when Stewart left RCA Records, with his 1994 Eastwest album ''Greetings from the Gutter'' being licensed from Anxious. The label is best known for groups including Londonbeat, Curve and the Dutch band Soft Parade, as well as ex-Specials singer Terry Hall, who was also previously a member of Vegas with Stewart.
