Anxious Records
Anxious Records (sometimes typeset as AnXious) was a record label set up by David A. Stewart of Eurythmics, and overseen by Stewart with Infectious Music's Korda Marshall (when Marshall was at BMG/RCA Records). Originally set up as a BMG label, the company went independent when Stewart left RCA Records, with his 1994 Eastwest album ''Greetings from the Gutter'' being licensed from Anxious. The label is best known for groups including Londonbeat, Curve and the Dutch band Soft Parade, as well as ex-Specials singer Terry Hall, who was also previously a member of Vegas with Stewart. Anka Wolbert
Anka Wolbert (also Anke Wolbert, born 10 June 1963) is a Dutch musician, singer, songwriter and web developer, best known for her work with Clan of Xymox. Music career Xymox, Clan of Xymox Anka Wolbert co-founded the band Xymox with Ronny Moorings in 1981, self-publishing their first mini-album '' Subsequent Pleasures'' in 1983. Pieter Nooten joined the band as third songwriter shortly after this release. With the name Xymox lengthened to Clan of Xymox, they signed a recording contract with independent UK label 4AD and released their eponymous debut album ''Clan of Xymox'' in 1985. The track ''7th Time'', with Anka Wolbert on lead vocals, was picked up by John Peel, leading to the band recording twice at the legendary Peel Sessions at the BBC, in June and November 1985. The Starlings
The Starlings were an English alternative rock band, formed in 1989, utilising as the main project for New Zealand-born singer/guitarist Chris Sheehan. The group was dissolved by Sheehan around the release of their last EP. Sheehan went on to record two LPs under the name Starlings as the only member and producer/engineer. ''The Soft Parade'' is the fourth studio album by American rock band the Doors, released on July 18, 1969, by Elektra Records. Most of the album was recorded following a grueling tour during which the band was left with little time to compose new material. Record producer Paul A. Rothchild recommended a total departure from the Doors' first three albums: develop a fuller sound by incorporating brass and string arrangements provided by Paul Harris. Lead singer Jim Morrison, who was dealing with personal issues and focusing more on his poetry, was less involved in the songwriting process, allowing guitarist Robby Krieger the opportunity to increase his own creative output. The album peaked at number six on the ''Billboard'' 200, but it failed to retain audiences in the UK and other European countries that their previous album, ''Waiting for the Sun'', had succeeded in engaging. Jonathan Roy Perkins (born 9 October 1976) is a former English cricketer. Perkins was a right-handed batsman. He was born at Reading, Berkshire. Perkins made his Minor Counties Championship debut for Berkshire in 1998 against Cheshire. From 1998 to 2005, he represented the county in 22 Minor Counties Championship matches, the last of which came in the 2005 Championship when Berkshire played Oxfordshire. Nan Vernon is a Canadian singer. She is notable for providing the end credit music of both of Rob Zombie's ''Halloween'' films and for being part of the "singer-songwriter trend" of women nurturing folk music's rebirth. Biography Early life Vernon is the daughter of Nancy West and actor John Vernon, and the sister of actress Kate Vernon. Miss World is the oldest existing international beauty pageant. It was created in the United Kingdom by Eric Morley in 1951.
